Also! Not having a mother myself, I’d like to brighten the day of someone who might find this day a bit difficult, so I’d like to give away a cake to a friend or someone you know who struggles with Mother’s Day, for whatever reason. Once, I was buying a birthday card in a card shop and the poor cashier asked if I’d like to buy a promotional Mother’s Day mug and I bellowed MY MUM IS D E A D and ran out the shop without paying for the card. Once I was less mad, I tried going back to pay for the card apologise a few months later but the poor person I bellowed at had quit. Haunts me to this day eleven years on.
