What a 5 years it has been, turning our dream of running a contemporary holiday let into a reality. Passionately renovating this tired flat into the wonderful space it is today, and hosting hundreds of fabulous guests over the years. People have got engaged whilst staying, babies have probably been created whilst staying, memories have been made whilst staying. And hopefully many more future guests will love it as much as we do.

Thank you to everyone who has stayed and all the amazing reviews you have left us.

October is pretty empty as the calendar has only just been opened. Half term by the sea??

Myself and the small made it to Alleyway Espresso after school today. And what a delightful hidden gem it is.

I'm a sucker for metro tiles, good coffee, chilled music and house plants, so this place ticks all of the boxes for me. Add to that a cute AF sunny courtyard and lovely owners to boot and I think we may just have a new favourite Whitstable hangout.

Definitely a different, and very welcome addition to our town's already brilliant coffee scene. We shall be back (probably tmrw!)

It is a little walk from The Space, but so worth it. If arriving by train it is en route, so why not grab a coffee before checking in?!

You'll find AE nestled between Clare Road and Station Road. 🌱☕

We've been busy busy with guests coming and going and Whitstable is looking pretty lovely in this glorious sunshine.

We've had a cancellation for April 17th for 2 nights if anyone fancies a cheeky getaway.

We've been so lucky to have been hosting guests all over the winter. Whitstable is great in all seasons and we love it when The Space has been the perfect base for guests to enjoy our lovely town.

We just hit our 4 year anniversary and still get such a buzz when guests love The Space.

We took a risk setting up a holiday let and had no idea if we were doing the right thing, or able to make a go of it. We'd talked about it and had some design ideas but that was as far as we had got.

In 2018 the marketing agency in London where I had worked for 10 years announced redundancies and with a new baby at home and other big life stuff going on, we took that as a massive sign to shift life sideways and put our words and ideas into action.

After a year long renovation and a lot of blood, sweat and tears The Space was created. And we loved it. And we still love it. And we are so happy that other people love it 💛

When we renovated The Space, we swore we would absolutely, never, ever do another refurb project. But, a bit like having tattoos you forget the pain.

Fast forward 4 years and we have just finished renovating a bungalow in Whitstable that we now call home.

Apparently this is the last one we will ever be doing 🤔.

So grab a copy of the winter Whistler and hunker down with a hot drink as there's loads of interesting features to get stuck into.

We've recently had THREE November cancellations. We're trying not to take it personally 😭😭

It does mean that we have quite a few available week nights now though if you're looking for a sneaky mid week mini break.

We're obviously also aware that there is a horrific cost of living crisis and that nights away are a bit of a luxury at the moment. So, we've dropped all of our November and December prices and reduced our minimum stay policy to ONE NIGHT (excluding Christmas and New Year).

Why not come away and use our gas and electricity. It's probably cheaper than staying at home!!!

Friday caffeine fix superbly served by

Last night I visited the for the very first time (so so worth a visit while you're in the area), super cute and cosy and top notch cocktails.

We saw , just brilliant. Thank you.

Definitely check out what's on at the theatre over the winter. Margate is a 25 minute drive from Whitstable. So easy! Or trains go direct.

Bigger the changeover challenge, bigger the sense of achievement at the end 💪

If you like walking get yourselves over to the Orchards in Chatham Hatch. The apples are in abundance and looking beautiful in the autumn sunshine. There is the lovely for a refreshment afterwards.

We have a lovely 1 bed apartment coming up for rent from mid October. This is not a holiday let but we are open to shorter long term arrangements (if that makes sense). Maybe artists who are visiting on a project basis or NHS staff being relocated for example.

Currently being decorated throughout and will be fully furnished.

5 min walk to the main sands beach, 5 minute walk to the old town and 2 mins to The Centre area which has lots of new coffee shops and bars popping up.

10/15 mins to Cliftonville.

Opposite the Carl Freedman gallery and a short walk to the Turner.
