'Earth' without 'art' is just 'eh'. My paintings are full of light and colour, trying to capture a single moment in time.
Using mainly a pallet knife and mostly mixing my paints on the canvas I have a very loose style, I go where-ever the canvas takes me.
Hi all. I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and New Year!
Sorry for not posting much recently but this one has taken me a while to finish. Started painting it at Caversham Art Fair in the begining of December but finished it last week. Would love to know what you think of it!
2024 dairies at my Etsy shop now, only 3 left!
#2024
Caversham art fair 10-4 today. Would be great to see you if you're in the area!
Art fair this weekend! I'll be there painting away would love to see you all there!
Well since my last post, I've got another year older, took part in my first art fair and almost traveled the length of the country picking up inspiration as I went.
It's been a manic few weeks but a lot of fun. Hoping to have time for more painting this week, so watch this space!
All set up with 45mins spare! If you're in the area please pop in and say hi.
Final throes of art fair prep. If you're in the area I'd love to see you there. I'll be in the Caversham Methodist Church (about 15 mins walk from the station) on 11th November between 10-4 alongside other talented artists and carfters. All welcome!
Latest artwork, what else can I say other then Dartmoor. Love the place!
I know it's been a while and I'm really sorry to all of you that I haven't posted more recently.
Illness in the family and preparing for my first art fairs has meant that I haven't found much spare time, but we were lucky enough to go to beautiful Devon last week for a break and I took my art stuff with me. And as the saying goes, here's one I prepared earlier!
Just a few hours on Dartmoor for me and feeling really inspired again. Hoping to work this up into a bigger piece at a later date but I think this catches the feels of the place.
Soon to be exhibited at in Clevedon, Sommerset! So if you're local pop on and have a look and support this lovely local gallery.
I love the way these have turned out, both local scenes of the pier and the harbour so fingers crossed someone else will love them too!
Working towards my first art fair. Preparation is going well but choosing which paintings to select is proving really hard! This does seem to be a good little collection of originals alongside some of my little 8" square paintings too. And lots of prints to choose from too.
Dartmoor, one of my favourite places, full of history and empty of people...perfect!
I've been working hard on getting myself ready for the autumn art fairs, first ones ever for me!
These prints are of two of my favourite places, Scotland and New Zealand.
Sorting out print and mug orders and framing up some of my smaller originals all means not much time to actually paint.
I'm up for some more ideas of printables I could sell so all ideas are very welcome!
This was a fun little painting to do. I love this scene of mountains rising up over a lake, you can have so much fun with a subtle colour pallet and still manage to add depth.
One of my latest. Working on some smaller pieces in preparation for a couple of art fairs. Can't believe I'm having to think of Christmas in August!
Been getting my head round a lot in the last few weeks so sorry for not posting very regularly, hopefully I'll have more time again soon.
By popular request, it's finished! I used to like this clock tower, like meeting an old friend every visit. Now after struggling to paint it, I think it'll be a while before I like it again!
Print prices if anyone is interested.
3" white border although smaller is available too;
25x51cm £52
30x56cm £62
35x61cm £72
Really pleased with my little mug collection, I have 4 currently available in my Etsy shop but hoping to get some more made up this week.
Let me know what you think as all feedback is very welcome!
Coming soon to my Etsy shop, my new mug collection!
Playing with colour and contrast.
Haven't been very productive lately as have had to focus on the boring parts of life, clearing out the clutter and accounts to mention just a couple.
Hope to refocus again on my art now so watch this space for more regular updates!
I was working on a painting of woodlands when I found out that my dad had been rushed in to hospital. he is now recovering slowly, thankfully.
This painting has ended up totally different from what I had in mind. Now it features an old chestnut tree still standing proud dispute it's broken branches.
Another dark and moody sky, I promise they will get lighter again!
My mood has been a little low and flat recently as I'm struggling with this unusual hot spring weather and depression.
Tomorrow is another day and I hope to get lots of painting done.
Well the hotter it gets the more I crave rain it seems. Finally got to paint again today and yep it's a dark rain cloud and a pretty tree that came out!
Another moody sky, a different take on a deep blue sky, not quite monochrome but only 4 colours went into this one. Very pleased with the result though. Let me know what you think.
Started to rework some an old favourite today. I loved the feel of this one but the finish was a little rough around the edges and was lacking detail.
Happier with it now though, let me know what you think!
I don't know if this is just me but I do tend to get a fair amount of paintings that end up being a "work in progress" for what seems like forever. This is one.
It's just a little 8"x8" by just isn't coming together for me.
I reworked it again but still not happy that I got the feels I'm after, hope to tinker again over the weekend, so watch this space!
I love painting scenes like this, beautiful moorlands and Highlands, remote and precious.
This is taken from a series of photos I took from our holiday up to the Cairngorms and I love these windswept trees.
Any guesses where this might be? The next in my range series, more suggestions and photos welcome!
Finished latest painting. A big thank you again to for giving me a lift when I got stuck for a taxi and really didn't fancy walking along a busy winding country road in the near dark last month. Such a lovely family!
Clevedon is where I'll be heading again this weekend to visit my folks and hopefully put a smile on dad's face again.
My little helper, sweet dreams!
