Very sad to no longer be working with The Beauty Box team but the time has come for something new ♡ The last 3 years, despite covid, have been bloody amazing and if it wasn't for such a lovely salon and wonderful team I don't think I'd be ready for this next step.

It's not goodbye, I'll be back for my brows and nails 😂

I am very excited to share with you that I am relocating!!

Work begins today, and I will continue to be with the girls at The Beauty Box, above The Rose Street Barber's, until the new salon is up and running.

3 years ago I was unemployed. The week before I handed my notice in and said au revoir to my colleagues of 10 years to start a new adventure. Little did I know we were entering a global pandemic.

But how time flies! Here I am, fully booked for 8 weeks, with a fabulous clientele, wonderful working space, colleagues that have become wonderful friends and a job that I LOVE!!

I am so lucky. And things are only going to get better.. I have a little surprise coming... watch this space. The countdown is ON.

Have you ever had your hair damaged in a salon? Snapped off or just become incredibly unmanageable? Well, here’s the thing - hairdressing is done by humans not robots so until then, accidents will happen and sadly your locks will be the victim. Why am I telling you this? Because I am not a robot and by no means perfect, but I have, and will continue to invest thousands of pounds into my education to reduce this risk. Often (but not always) you get what you pay for and with me you can be sure to know that your bill helps me afford more education and less errors. Your hair is my livelihood.

Hair can be damaged by both UV and heated tools, like straighteners, tongs and even your trusty hairdryer, so it’s important to give your hair as much protection as possible. Ask me about the best heat protection you can use for your hair next time is see you!

One way to help your vivid colours and toners to last longer is using cold water in the shower (you get used to it after a while!) ❄️

We do Olivia's roots every 6-8 weeks and once a year we do a full balayage refresh to make that colour pop again 😍

LISTEN UP! Forget about ash and start loving warmth because it’s gonna be a hell of alot easier for you to look after..

Did you know ashy blondes are harder to achieve, take more time to get and cooler colours wash out warmer over time anyway. Warmer colours actually make your blonde appear brighter, whereas cooler blondes can sometimes make your blonde appear a little ‘dull’ if overdone. (You might have noticed this if you're addicted to that purple shampoo..)

It’s not nice is it? Especially if you were not aware of it.

I feel your pain. You won't find me getting scissor happy.

Every last millimetre is discussed with you in advance… why? Because I might have the knowledge and I will always give my advice …but it’s YOUR hair.

YOUR hair, YOUR rules.

Over-washing can be damaging for your hair, especially if it is bleached, coloured, or has been chemically treated. When you wash your hair every day it strips away the natural oils and proteins that you need to keep your hair and scalp healthy, so try to limit hair washing to three times a week if you can.

I stock a selection of shampoos and conditioners so feel free to talk to me about the best shampoo and conditioner for your needs.

What’s the difference between balayage and highlights? To be honest… very little these days. Balayage was traditionally a technique where the blonde was blended through the ends from your natural and highlights went straight from the roots. However now, as balayage clients want their blonde higher and higher, the difference between the two is sometimes minimal. All you need to do is explain to me how you want your colour to look by bringing in pictures of what you like and don’t like and I'll do the rest. No more worrying about the words!

SO excited to get back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off!

Lots of new things coming this year, getting itchy feet so time to step out of my comfort zone.. new products, new services, new courses and maybe time for some new hair?
