Another 6inch ‘baby’ cake went out to someone special recently (my dad 🥰) - we had belated birthday celebrations after his initial birthday was cancelled due to him having covid 😢

This gluten free mini coffee and walnut cake went down a treat 🤎 - and safe to say lasted only 2 days 😋

🎂Big Birthdays, Little Cakes🎂

🍰This cutie was for my father-in-law last week. A small celebration with the family before he was being whisked away for a fantastic holiday 🏝️

❤️This gorgeous cake was a rich red velvet with vanilla buttercream, biscoff and plenty of chocolate decoration for the man with the sweetest tooth I know 🍬

🎂Big Birthdays🎂

💪As you’ll know by now I love helping people celebrate their big birthdays, so I loved the challenge of this three tier!

⚽️Each tier representing something significant in the birthday boy’s life - his love of football (10" base), the police (8"middle) and armed forces (shaped beret)👮‍♂️

All detail was edible 🤤 including a beautifully gooey Krispie marshmallow beret ♥️

👶BABY🍼

In exciting news I am due to have our second baby very soon, so will not be taking orders for a little while I’m afraid 😢I ask that you be patient with me while I welcome our new baby and take a short break from baking.

🎂Wedding Cakes - like buses🎂

So I wait for wedding orders to come in and I had 2 in the same week. Here is my second blue beauty of the week 💙

A very elegant white and blue design with a personalised topper (to include the gorgeous cats 😻)

🍰This was a fruit cake covered in marzipan and fondant on the bottom, with a delicate lemon sponge on top, with a super buttery lemon curd and tangy lemon buttercream all covered in fondant too 🍋

🧁These cakes were also accompanied by 2 sets of cupcakes 😅 a dozen chocolate with caramel centre and a dozen carrot cupcakes - all with a beautiful personalised fondant stamp on too 🧁

🎂Wedding Cakes🎂

🤵‍♂️This is where I want to be with my cakes - WEDDINGS 👰‍♀️

This was a little different from a traditional white cake. Here is a beautifully deep blue ‘Maserati’ cake. A great surprise for the groom - whose car it is 🚙

This was a double layer fruit cake, covered in marzipan and fondant icing - made not too sweet ready to be served with cheese later that day 😋

🌈 Rainbow Cupcakes 🌈

My gorgeous rainbow cupcakes went out yet again - looking stunning with a paler rainbow this time (as requested by the customer) 🧁

I still love making these and they still make me smile every time I pipe the gorgeous boxes of rainbows 😁

⭐️Wake Catering ⭐️

I received a call from a friend recently asking me to help with some sweet treats for a wake. This was a big order, and a big challenge at 32 weeks pregnant and in the crazy heat the other week 😥

The personalised toppers on the cupcakes were a lovely touch and tribute to their late family member ❤️

2 very special little ladies in my life got christened recently and I had the pleasure of providing the cupcakes for the celebration 🎉

🌈24 pale rainbow cupcakes with personalised toppers went out at the celebration and went down a storm 🧁

As mentioned yesterday I made a gorgeous cake and cupcakes covered in pink roses - so thought I'd share the beauty that was the individually boxed cupcakes🧁

These were such a cute addition to the order so that they could be easily delivered to those who could not attend the party 🩷

Now being given free rein on cakes is both amazing 😀and terrifying😳 But when I was told this 17th birthday girl loved bright colours and macaroons I instantly knew what I was making….

💍Wedding cake 👰‍♀️

I had the pleasure of teaming up with The Worcester Cake Baker the other week to produce this beauty of a wedding cake.

3 tiers of:
❤️Red velevet cake with cream cheese icing
💛Lemon sponge and buttery lemon curd
🩷Victoria sponge and strawberry jam

All covered in a deliciously sweet vanilla buttercream 😋

🥣 More practice cake…. Cupcakes this time! 🧁

In prep for a glorious wedding cake order I was practicing a new carrot cupcake recipe - minus walnuts, as the bride is not a fan.

These were a gorgeous spiced cake with lashings of cream cheese frosting 😋 and the bride and groom-to-be were thrilled with the flavour - so much so they ate 2 each! 🙌🏻

🧹Deep Clean 🧽

I thought I’d let you all in on a little bit of my business admin….although there is a lot to be said for running your own business. This one aspect is a deeply satisfying one (pun intended 😉) - doing my kitchen deep clean 😬

🫧I effectively clean my kitchen from top to bottom (on a regular basis) - wiping down cupboards, handles, moving everything off shelves and wiping down, emptying fridge and freezer shelves, scouring my ovens, cleaning out the extractor fan and many MANY more things in my kitchen🫧

I love the feeling after this is done, and enjoy that it’s super clean and hygienic for making my cakes for all of you ❤️

⏰This type of clean usually wipes out almost an entire day, so I wanted to share with you the effort that goes in behind the scenes too - as you get to see my gorgeous creations, but not very often the behind the scenes ⭐️

🎂I often get requests for large celebration cakes for special numbered birthdays....30th, 40th, 50th, 60th and they are always fun to do. They vary in size, style and quite how elaborate (or not) everyone would like them 🧁

🎂Cake practice 🎂

🎈When I get a quiet week I do like to practice cake techniques or even try out new recipes, so I can keep supplying you lovely lot with the best I have to offer. So this week it was my arch nemesis; RED VELVET CAKE! 🎈

I have always found this cake to be difficult to make properly red. The balance of ingredients I swear requires you to be a cross between a scientist and a magician 😂 but…. I DID IT! I’m super proud of myself for managing to conquer this recipe and am so pleased with the colour, texture and flavour 🙌

❤️I also had a play with a piping nozzle I've not used in a while, hence the crazy pipped topping ❤️

💙2nd Birthday Cake - part 2 💙

As a treat for my little one, we had a small birthday party for her (as well as the family gathering the other week too 🙈) so there was a second cake! This time a different theme….

😍She was delighted to see this cake, and it’s safe to say she devoured quite a bit of it too!

This was a great cake to make for a friend to surprise her husband with 🎉

A ‘naked’ cake with a few extras. The thing that really ‘topped’ this cake was the golden toppers she picked up, they really set off the cake ❤️

☕️Coffee Cake☕️

I must admit I’m not usually a massive fan of coffee cake, but after a few recipe tweaks for this beauty I fell back in love with the sweet and bitter balance of cake and coffee 😋

I hope the lucky young lady enjoys this cake for her 15th birthday 🎂

It was my little ones 2nd birthday recently, so we had a family gathering for her birthday, so I had fun making her a birthday cake with her favourite characters on. And who other than…..
