INTRODUCING COME TOGETHER, or ‘ CT’ as they are commonly known certainly deserve to take main stage at Wacky Weekender. Now into their 24th year, they have seen some things along the way; TV performances, many festival stages, famous audience members such as Robert Plant, missing guitarists and even guitars lost in the River Severn, almost exactly on the spot where Wacky Weekender is happening! Maybe it will turn up!
Lead singer with the band, Steve Oliver who is also Stage Manager for Wacky Weekender, commented ‘it’s fantastic to be deeply involved in such a new event, bringing established local groups to the big stage alongside global Headline artists; what a thrill for all our local groups to experience this, but also for the City of Worcester that has deserved a bona fide music festival for many years. Most importantly, we actively support new and upcoming acts as we know how difficult it can be to get a foot into the industry, even at grass roots level. CT aren’t hanging up their guitars just yet, but let’s really get behind those just starting out – it’s really important to us’
If you have seen CT before you know what to expect; Fun, frolics, classic dancing tunes from the likes of ELO, Bowie, Duran Duran, Springsteen, Simple Minds, as well as a sprinkle of modern classics from The Killers and Kings of Leon. They many even throw in some Take That!! CT will be on the Wyvern (Main) Stage, 4pm Sat 22nd July! 🎶 🎤🥁🥁🎸🎉🎉🎉🕺💃
