Hypnobirthing Classes Worcester
Empowering and informative classes to prepare women and birthing people for a positive birth
Hello new followers šš¼ and Happy Pride Month š³ļøāš
Iām Holly, Founder of Hypnobirthing with Holly and I wanted to reintroduce myself.
Iām a single mother of two and live in Worcester city centre with my two daughters and our cat Bagheera. Iām a very creative soul with a background in performing and once had my own princess entertainment business which some of you may recognise me from. You may have even booked me for your childrenās parties!
I love yoga, baking, gardening and shopping second hand and Iām definitely most at peace when Iām in nature.
I took a Hypnobirthing course during my second pregnancy after an extremely traumatic birth with my firstborn and it was honestly life changing. I was able to learn coping techniques and advocate for myself as I navigated a pregnancy on my own. I went on to birth my second daughter in the most perfect way even when my birth plan went off course and it is definitely my biggest achievement to date!
As of today I am fully qualified! šš¼
My mission is to help women and birthing people access the right information to make the decisions on how they birth their babies and feel confident and empowered to take charge of their experience.
If you want to know whether Hypnobirthing is for you, send me a message. If youāre sold and ready to book, click the link on my page to fill out a registration form.

You may ask why I use the term āBirthing Peopleā?
Thatās because not everyone with a va**na identifies as a woman. Trans Men and Non Binary folk exist.
These members of the LGBTQ+ community are protected under the Equality Act 2010 and it is more important than ever to use inclusive language during pregnancy and birth to humanise their experiences.
In 2023 Logan Brown (pictured in slide 4) featured on Glamour magazineās front cover standing proud as a pregnant Trans Man. Logan went on to write an educational childrenās picture book about his true story as a Transgender pregnant person.
You can find more information on inclusive language and how to support the community this month and every day by following LGBTQ+ educator and doula AJ Silver š

āJust take all the drugsā
Hands up if anyone has said this to you in pregnancy? How did it make you feel?ā
ā
When youāre pregnant EVERYONE has got a bit of advice and often itās solely from their own experience. ā
The thing that bothers me about the words ājust have all the drugsā is that itās often teamed with something like ādonāt bother preparing for birthā or ādonāt write a birth plan, I didnātā.
ā
Your plan can be to have all the drugs, absolutely. However, the thing is thereās likely to be a whole chunk of labour where drugs are not available because things like epidurals are not recommended until your labour has progressed to a certain point. How are you preparing to deal with that? ā
ā
Also as much as having every drug available is the right choice for some, itās important to know that there can be downsides to this. Did you know that an epidural can slow labour and make you more likely to have an assisted birth e.g forceps? Yet it could be a much-needed break from intense sensations in a long labour. Knowledge is power. ā
ā
Birth is a big deal. You will remember it for the rest of your life. Donāt let people freak you out and disempower you during this major time in
Happy International Day of the Midwife š

Maternal Mental Health Week š«¶š»
A week dedicated to the mental health of mothers and birthing people before, during and after birth.
I have suffered with my own mental health on and off throughout my life but especially since becoming a mother.
I went through my second pregnancy alone and due to my previous birth trauma, recent relationship breakdown and emotional abuse, I needed extra support.
I was looked after by my local Perinatal Mental Health team throughout the pregnancy and first year postpartum and can honestly say I donāt think I would be here without them!
Whether you have a history of ill mental health prior to giving birth or not, your wellbeing will certainly be affected when you become a parent. There are huge hormonal shifts, lack of sleep, changes in your relationship and endless stress and exhaustion.
So this is your reminder to take care of YOU.
Spend time in nature. Make yourself a cup of tea and take 5 minutes out before bedtime. Try yoga. Practice mindfulness. Talk to other mums. Just look after you!
No matter how bad it gets, I promise you that youāre not alone. As part of my Hypnobirthing Course you will receive ongoing support and advice after your baby arrives to ensure there is always someone listening even when you feel like youāre completely on your own.

The top reason why youāre putting off booking a Hypnobirthing course is most probably the cost!
We spend thousands on our wedding day. We spend hard earned money on the best pram, the nursery and the latest gadget to help our babies sleep!
So WHY are we not investing in our birth experience?
Your baby doesnāt care how much the travel system cost or what their room looks like. They care that the person who brought them into the world is happy, healthy and mentally well so that they can best look after them. All babies really need is YOU.
So find a second hand pram on marketplace, accept the hand-me-downs and spend the money you would have spent on ābrand newā on the most important day of you and your babies life!
You were made to do this! Fear shouldnāt even cross your mind šŖš¼
Have you ever been told a birth story which mentioned the words āI had toā.. (have a caesarean)?
Shockingly, 90% of women and birthing people donāt realise they have a CHOICE when it comes to birth. I didnāt first time round!
Believe it or not, you donāt āhave toā do anything.
EVERY choice comes with both risk and benefit. Make sure you weigh up the pros and cons before making your decision. Once you start making decisions that are right for you, you wonāt āhave toā do anything!
After you birth your baby you give birth to your placenta.
Itās not surprising that many donāt know this part of the process. I for sure didnāt before I got pregnant. We arenāt shown it in the movies, we certainly arenāt told about it by our parents.
The placenta is an organ that grows in the uterus during pregnancy. It is connected to a developing baby by the umbilical cord, providing the baby with oxygen and nutrients throughout the pregnancy.
After a baby is born, the placenta will come away from the uterine wall and be delivered out of the va**na.
Arenāt our bodies amazing!?
āYouāre ONLY 1 centimetre dilatedā
One of the downsides to examinations in labour is the potential impact of information being given that isnāt what you were hoping for.
Do remember though that lots of other things go on during labour. If you do choose to have va**nal examinations, being told you are āonlyā 1cm dilated doesnāt acknowledge the other wonderful work your body has done in ripening, shortening your cervix. Plus, itās no clear indication of when your baby is likely to be born, just a snapshot of what is going on in that moment.
YOU can have this smile on your face too!
Book onto a Hypnobirthing course and feel in control of your labour and birth!
You owe it to yourself and the future you š«¶š»

When I was pregnant, I couldnāt stop thinking about the what ifs...
What if itās the best experience of my life
What if I feel calm throughout
What if I feel supported and loved throughout
What if my surroundings help me feel safe and at ease
What if I experience powerful sensations that make me feel in awe of my body
What if I bring my baby into the word with ease
Thank goodness Hypnobirthing helped me let go of the limiting thoughts and beliefs that had haunted me before this š
What āwhat ifsā are you going to focus on?
These are my top tips for preparing for a great birth. A birth that leaves you feeling empowered and strong.
After such a positive second birth I wish I had tried Hypnobirthing first time round! Hypnobirthing totally stacks the odds in your favour of having a great birth.
Iām now taking bookings for four week courses in person or virtually from June onwards. Send me a message today and letās get you birth ready.
Letās talk about birth spaces..
Wherever you decide to give birth; hospital, home or birth centre, make sure it is the right place for YOU.
We spend hours planning for occasions such as weddings and big birthdays, so why arenāt we taught to put the same amount of effort into THE biggest day of our life?
When my second daughter was due I turned my dining room into this beautiful birthing space, complete with all the things that made me feel calm and relaxed. All my efforts paid off as I laboured for 3 days at home in my tranquil oxytocin bubble.
Let me know in the comments where you birthed / are planning to birth your babies š«¶š»
Itās so important to get good information on which to base our decisions during pregnancy and birth because they can affect us for the rest of our lives!
Less than 5% of babies are actually born on their estimated due date!
So that date youāve been given, how about you make it a due month?
Honestly, youāll be so glad that you did! Bodies donāt birth babies on demand or on a schedule. ā
Things to remember about contractionsā¦
1ļøā£ They come and go. Most women / birthing people experience a break in between them where they are free from the intensity.
2ļøā£ They build in intensity over time, giving your body time for your endorphins to build.
3ļøā£ These sensations are simply muscles working. Muscles work better and more comfortably when you are relaxed.
4ļøā£ Each one is bringing your baby closer.
5ļøā£ They canāt be stronger that you, because they are you.
A little bit about me šø
Tell me in the comments if we have any similarities
More than 80% of birth partnerās come along to a Hypnobirthing course with some reservation. The name āHypnobirthingā doesnāt really do us any favours! They are assuming itās a bit mind control, a bit woo woo..āWhoās this weird woman and whatās she going to do to us?!ā
But actually, the course is about them too. They donāt want to feel like a spare part on the big day. Theyād love to know how to support you and make this a team experience.
I trust that they will be reassured that Hypnobirthing is logical. Thereās science behind it and lots of links with big mindset practices like sports psychology.
So even if they are a bit of a sceptic, still book your course. Theyāll be fine, I promise.
When is the best time to start a Hypnobirthing course, I hear you ask?
The most ideal time to begin the course is between 20 and 30 weeks of pregnancy. The more time you have to practice the techniques and use the decision-making tools, the better.
However, please donāt worry if you are beyond this point in pregnancy. You will still benefit from massively benefit from a course.
If you are super organised like I am and like to plan in advance you can book a course as soon as you like, even if you arenāt anywhere near the recommended time frame.
