I've had the pleasure of enjoying several times in my life - but only photographed them once. I remember most of the 2018 photography team and a good bunch of the crew sat in the pit, mouth open - myself enjoying them witnessing Shellac for the first time. It is extremely sad that nobody will ever have that experience again x

Thankyou for all the lovely responses following my first. I'm going to continue writing and expressing in the same way, speaking about my experience as an artist and a human navigating through this life with all its beautiful and chaotic nuances.
This reflection talks about the challenges of comparison and self doubt and how I've leaned to listen more closely to positive external voices and gifts that they have been presented to help see me through tough times.

Hi there. Over on my sister site - www.jpsinghphotography.co.uk - I've posted my first blog piece as part of what I plan to be an open , vulnerable and reflective collection of musings around the themes of self development, creativity and connection.
It's not intended to be a typical photographers blog. I wanted to go deeper and write from the stomach. So I did. Aspects of life that resonate with us all - humanity, endurance, sacrifice, bravery as well as artisty. I wanted to explore life as a brazen and beautiful thing. All the nuances and all the magnificence that is reflected in all of us, if we just take a moment to look. This is a very belated happy new year everyone, wishing you all much health and happiness for 2024. X

Wanted to do an update. An unashamedly vulnerable one. I'm feeling proud and wanted to share.

Feeling very greatful for amazing new work experiences and clients I've had the pleasure of working with last year.

Including Ferrari, 2 Disney productions and one BBC drama.

Portrait work with Toyah willcox and Robert Fripp and The Joy Formidable.

I've ventured into video promo and will also be finishing a music video with the amazing Sang Froid next month (gonna be killer) excited for everyone to see that.

My wedding website : Www.jpsinghphotography.co.uk has had a total overhaul - weddings booked in with some beautiful couples in 2024.

Mentally and physically I'm fitter at 47 than at 37 - been nailing my Pullups and prioritising self care.

I feel blessed by the new beautiful souls that have come into and enriched my life.

Music was a little less present last year. I've got some ideas to shake that up in 2024. Few great gigs with the though and I did finish a new track :

But one of the most rewarding experiences of 2023 has been my weekly shifts volunteering with the childrens society and all the incredible gifted young people that have trusted me with their time and troubles.

So I'm proud for everything I've worked hard for, grateful for what last year has given and shown me and am set for more adventures , challenges and growth in 2024. Things have already started. I'm excited. I need to work hard.

Alot of artists are confident and adept at performing, but photo shoots can be anxiety inducing as control is taken away and a new level of vulnerability exposed.
However It was a joy working with Poppy - we create a variety of imagery for this years campaign as she works on new music and new ideas ! - follow her on socials to keep updated with what's to come in 2024 x

This is my super wicked human friend Yasmin Agilah .
Yasmin and I sealed a friendship over lockdown when we embarked on our permitted 30 min (and only 30 min...) outside exercises together, which consisted of walks and talks. Mostly talks. Absolute talks. That's what we are good at. Talking. And supporting and sharing and challenging.
This woman has taught me so much. She is one of the people I turn to when I need advice. When I need to discern what is healthy for me from what is not. Those times when I am too in it, to see it. Honesty sometimes means hearing hard truths that bite, but they are always delivered from a loving place.
I am so grateful to have female friends. It is something I encourage all het males to work on. If you want to be a better male partner in your romantic relationships, talk to and listen to women

Also. This human is fiercely talented and determined. 2023 has been an incredibly challanging year for Yasmin - but she has allowed herself to feel all the pain yet never be defeated. All those who know her see that fire in her beliefs, morals and art. Oh yeah. Get following this artist, cus shizzle is gonna blow up for her soon. Well. It already is.

I wasent working, but had to get my phone out to document.
In 2023 we are witnessing, once again, the obliteration of lives in a genocidal response to terrorism. Pain upon pain, trauma upon trauma. Placing a resolve in the hands of politicians feels hopeless. But one way we can individually attempt to counter so much agony is by living with love. Seek it out, create it, share it with others and let it guide you.
Events like Saturdays compound and enrich that energy - I felt it in the room. So many many many smiles. So many wonderful folk. Take love with you, feel it in your chest. Meet hate with love.
