"...Their style is rooted in very familiar and well-mined grunge territory, but the thing is - they do it SO WELL that it still sounds as fresh as things must have done back in the original Seattle scene in 91-95." - Civil War UK, 2022
Zilch. set out a manifesto to craft loud, distorted, heavy music while still maintaining hooky and melodic pop sensibilities.
⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT⚠️
We regret to announce that our chapter with Chad has come to a close.
Chad has been amazing to play with and has kept us afloat as a band for the best part of the last year, allowing us to make our first proper music video, do a few gigs, and record a new collection of songs (that we’re still really excited to share with you all when the time comes).
Our expectations were managed from the start and we knew this wouldn’t be permanent, so we want to say a HUGE thank you to Chad for giving his time to help us out - we hope that you’ll all chime in too.
With that said, we are now looking for a new (permanent) drummer.
Someone who is passionate, hard-working, dedicated and driven - and hits really f****n hard.
We want to be as busy as possible in the run-up to our next release and beyond.
If you or someone you know is or may be interested, let us know by tagging below or sending us a DM - we want to get back to playing as soon as possible so Zilch. can have the best year yet!
To those of us who have been with us since the beginning - thank you for your continued support this year. It means the world.
To all of our new fans and followers, thank you for continuing to give us the drive to keep doing what we love.

We just want to say a big thank you to all of you that have streamed our music through a weird and kind of quiet time for us.
We were hunkered down for the first 6 months, rehearsing with our new drummer, planning the release of our 2nd EP, and writing the next EP.
We only played 6 shows, so we weren’t expecting to see any growth this year, but we were very pleasantly surprised 🥹
We plan to be much busier in 2024 - we’ve got some killer new songs that we are excited to share with you all.
It’s hard not to become obsessed with numbers as a band nowadays.
BUT it’s not all about numbers, it’s about the journey too, and we’re inviting you all to join us on our next 🙌
Lastly, a super-big thank you to those 4 very special people who had us as their top artist this year. Your support means the world to us 🖤

We’ve been so caught up in various other things that we COMPLETELY forgot the 3rd birthday of our 1st EP, “Cigars & Diazepam”, which was a month ago 😅
Recorded just before the first UK lockdown, this EP is gritty, poppy and noisy and really shows where we were as a band at the time.
We feel it never really got the release it deserved, so here’s to a happy, belated birthday to our 1st child 🖤
As approaches, Cal wrote a reflective poem on the long months ahead

Today marks the start of World Su***de Prevention week.
As a band and as individuals, this is a subject that hits home for us, as many of our songs elude to mental health and the struggles that come with it.
We recently found out that our song “Misgiven” has helped people we know (and complete strangers) through difficult times in their life, and it honestly means the world to us that our music has helped people, and in some cases, been part of a recovery process 💙
So, with that in mind, we have decided to make the song free to download from our Bandcamp for the entire week. The link is the comments below 👇
We know it’s not much, but if it can potentially help anyone out there who is struggling, we’d like it to reach those people.
There are some great organisations dedicated to this cause, such as PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Su***de 🙌
If you or anyone you know is going through a difficult dip at the moment, don’t keep it to yourself - talk to someone, check in with your friends and family, smile at a stranger on the street and end the stigma - it could be a huge help.
Love,
Zilch.

This is pure 90s grunge at its very very best and they reside in Worcester, Worcestershire UK. Absolutely fantastic - so stoked that we have bands like this to keep that incredible sound alive. I'm always saying this, but why aren't bands like this in the music charts? If you love grunge then you'll fkin love Zilch. "Down and Out" - absolute music bliss. "Radio Riot" - just pure Nirvana (No pun intended) , "Defect" - again so much comparison with Seattle's finest, but jeez it's done so friggin well. Absolutely applaud this EP/album.

Today is a day of reflection and memoirs, so we plucked this very recent and happy memory to share - our first hometown show in 6 months with our new drummer, Chad.
It was a night of nerves for all of us, but we had a lot of laughs and the vibes that night were excited and happy.
We thought this picture captured that 🖤
