Our Apple and Peanut Butter Bones and Apple and Banana Bones are changing!

Our business is growing rapidly and we're having to find more efficient ways of working. Our new bone shape cutter will allow us to cut out more biscuits in less time. Don't worry the recipe and taste are staying the same - it's just the shape that's changing (slightly).

30/04/2024

There's no hiding our treats, you'll notice the packaging is transparent. There's a good reason for this. We want you to be able to see what you are getting!

Not only are our bags transparent, so are our ingredients. If you read the label you'll notice that all the ingredients are things you've heard of. There's nothing artificial, no confusing terminology. Take these Sweet Potato Bites for instance, they contain coconut flour, real sweet potato (not sweet potato flour or powder) and rapeseed oil. In total 42% of the recipe is made up of sweet potato.

We are able to give a 10 month shelf life by dehydrating at low temperatures to withdraw the moisture. We could just add vegetable glycerine, but we don't want to add an ingredient that is manufactured in a factory (not obtained naturally as implied) and has not really been researched ( the main test was in 1933 on 3 dogs).

27/03/2024

It's been a day of Apple and Banana Hearts today. The apple and banana actually make up 45% of the ingredients in this treat - a proper fruity taste!

Each treat is cut by hand, just like all of our other varieties. You can imagine how long it has taken to produce the 5000+ bags of treats that we have produced so far this year. Not to mention the 1000+ bags of our Bag of Bones varieties and the 700+ of our large cookies.

I can't lie, it's hard work, but it's all worth it when we read your comments, see your posts and stories. We are extremely grateful for all the support we receive. Thank you!

The past 12 months have been extremely difficult for small businesses. The economy is on a knife edge and makes it difficult for a business to grow.

Recently I've discovered the podcast - I love it! It has really helped me to stay a little more level headed, to look at things in a more positive light.

I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Our Bag of Bones range has proved massively popular. We've made over 4000 of these since Christmas.

Available in 5 varieties; Peanut Butter, Charcoal, Carob, Veg and Banana & Peanut Butter. All grain free and low in fat, which would you choose?

That's us done for 2023!

It's been a strange year for small businesses with lots of ups and downs.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who has supported us through the year. Whether you are one of our many stockists (regardless of how long we've worked together); whether you have bought our treats from them, direct from our website, or our first venture into artisan markets at ; whether you have followed us, liked our posts and stories, or posted comments; if you have left one of our many 5 star reviews or mentioned us to friends; or supported my mental health by not commenting on my shocking grammar! Your support has truly meant a great deal to us.

❀️ ❀️ ❀️

We started in 2023 with lots of ambition and exciting plans. Circumstances meant that very few of these came to fruition. We'll be fixing that in 2024.

We hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and a very Happy New Year! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

Just look at the quality of these apples going into our Peanut Butter Cookies!

Some might say they're too good for dogs but not us. We believe our pups deserve the best which is why we use real fruit and veg not powdered or flavourings.

That's a wrap for us at for this year.

Thank you to all those involved in organising such a fantastic event (they still have the hard work of clearing away).Thank you for inviting us we've had a great time. To those who attended, it's been a pleasure meeting you all (and your pups)😍.

If you haven't been before, and you are in the area, it really is lovely. Lots of incredible stalls, beautiful products and an amazing atmosphere - keep an eye out for it next year!

Now back to baking all those Christmas treats πŸ˜„

16/09/2023

We don't often get chance to venture out to our stockists but it's great when we do!

Today in at and Grand Reopening!

It's time for a break! 😎🍦

Apawtiser will be closed Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd of September, and from the 8th until the 15th of September.

We will try and dispatch any orders received this week before the 8th of September. Any orders received next week will be dispatched as soon as we are able to.

All Halloween treats will be sent to stockists before the 8th of September, unless you have asked us to delay sending them.

26/08/2023

Who wouldn't want to spend Bank Holiday weekend baking Halloween treats? These will be available in shops and on our website shortly.

We're looking forward to baking some of these for our stall at on October 7th and 8th. We'll be well stocked up on all of our varieties, as well as our Halloween and Christmas varieties (yes I said it! In August 😱).

24/08/2023

You may have read that we recently celebrated our 3rd birthday. We are immensely grateful for all the people who have helped us reach this milestone.

Like many small businesses, our production costs have risen massively over the last couple of years. Up until now we have managed to swallow these increases without passing them on to our customers. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to do this.

As a result, from the 1st of September there will be an increase in the cost of Apawtiser Dog Treats. We know this is a difficult time for everybody and have tried to keep the increase as low as possible.

We are told that to improve the economy we need growth. We need to reduce spending to lower inflation. How does a small business grow with reduced spending?

Please shop small wherever possible. There is absolutely nothing being done to help small businesses at the moment.

We would like to thank you for your understanding. Matt & Sarah

Mac Monday (named after Apawtiser's inspiration) is coming !!!!!

Read on...sorry it's a long one (but worth it!)

When we started Apawtiser treats, at the very beginning of the COVID pandemic, we never really knew how successfully it would be.

Once lockdown was brought in, it was very tough to sell products, let alone a new brand which nobody had heard of. We honestly believed if the business could survive lockdown it could survive anything.

As a small business, this year has brought a whole new level of challenges - we won't go into them because you know what they are. We have fought against increasing our prices because, ultimately, we did not want to alienate our customers many of whom, like us, were already struggling. Instead, we are simply trying to sell more.

This is where Mac Monday comes in!

It is true when small businesses say we can't compete with the Black Friday offers of large multinational companies. However, we can't afford to miss an opportunity to reward our customers (and, hopefully, attract some new ones!)

Mac Monday will run with a slight difference...

We are offering everybody a 20% discount with the code macmon20

Lots of people, including small businesses, are finding things a little tough. If you are feeling the pinch, you can choose to use our alternative code of macmon30 for 30% off your order.

If you are feeling a little more flush, you could opt for our 10% discount code, macmon10.

A minimum spend of Β£10 applies.

Our pups are important to us and no matter how tough things are we believe it is important to help others. For this reason 5% of what you spend will be donated to , providing essential pet care to those experiencing homelessness across the UK. There will also be a button on the website for you to donate more if you wish. We will cover the cost of the transaction fees for these donations, if you donate Β£1, they will receive Β£1.

But that's not all... one person will be selected, at random, from all those who order. This person will receive a full refund for their order!

Mac Monday will begin at midnight on the 5th December 2022 and will run for 24 hours!

Phew...I said it was a long one!

16/09/2022

Why would anybody think Mac has been at the peanut butter? πŸ˜„

He is very enthusiastic when it comes to the stuff - only our peanut butter for Mac though!

Mac loves his Apawtiser Hypoallergenic treats but for Best Friends' Day on June 8th he's prepared to share. We're offering a 20% discount for orders over Β£10 throughout all of June. Simply use the code 'bestfriend' at checkout. We have varieties that are grain free, low fat or high fibre and all are made with no added nasties!

13/03/2021

Today I want to talk about vegetable glycerin. You may not have heard of it before but you can find it listed in some dog treat ingredients- but what is it? In brief, it's an ingredient made from heating vegetable oils under pressure or mixing with an alkali. It is commonly made from coconut oil or, worryingly, palm oil. Rarely do you know which. It tends to be used to soften treats but also as a preservative due to its moisture absorbing properties.
More interestingly, it is also used to produce va**ng liquids, cosmetics, shampoo to name just a few.

Apawtiser dog treats do not contain vegetable glycerin. For us it falls into a similar category to 'meat derivatives' in that you don't really know what you are getting. It would be wrong to say it is harmful to your dog, but then neither are meat derivatives...

This time next week it will be Christmas Eve and Santa Paws will be on his way! Make sure your orders are with us by the end of tomorrow (18/12/20) to make sure they arrive in time.

Photos from Apawtiser Hypoallergenic Dog Treats's post 14/12/2020

Let's talk about peanut butter! Not all peanut butter is created equally as some is made with additives such as Xylitol. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener which is highly toxic to dogs - even in small quantities. Also, some peanut butters contain palm oil which can lead to an upset stomach in some dogs. At Apawtiser, we only use peanut butter made with 100% peanuts. This means your dog can enjoy our peanut butter based treats without any of the nasties!

The final flour of the week is coconut flour. Coconut flour is great for dogs with food intolerances as it is gluten free. It is high in plant-based protein and even higher in fibre! The coconut flour we use at Apawtiser is made from 100% ground coconut 'meat' - that's the white bit of the coconut. Check out our website for full details on our coconut based dog treats. Have a great weekend.

Photos from Apawtiser Hypoallergenic Dog Treats's post 10/12/2020

One of the flours we use in our treats is gram flour. Our gram flour is made from chickpeas and yellow peas making it grain free. It adds a boost of plant-based protein and fibre to your dog's diet.
Also it's great for dogs with sensitive tummies. Apawtiser gram flour treats are made with butternut squash or green beans and peanut butter.

Photos from Apawtiser Hypoallergenic Dog Treats's post 08/12/2020

Good Morning Tuesday. Today: rice flour. Rice flour is a good alternative for dogs who have wheat intolerances. It is gluten-free and low in fat. Apawtiser Rice Bone treats do not contain wheat or corn which can upset dogs who have allergy issues.

Photos from Apawtiser Hypoallergenic Dog Treats's post 07/12/2020

Why oat flour? Oat flour is a high-protein, low-sugar flour which is gentle on many dogs' digestive systems. It also contains soluble fibre, iron, manganese, zinc and B vitamins. At Apawtiser, all our Oaty Heart recipes are made from human grade rolled oats which we blitz into flour before adding our other tasty ingredients. Check out our range of Oaty Heart treats on our website.

Check out our Christmas Boxes for your furry best friend. Plus, new Carob Cookies added to our range. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! See full details on our website.
