To celebrate the return of OM YOGA North Wales classes at Bodnant Welsh Food after a longgg lockdown, we’re going to introduce you to a new teacher and their class each week. Starting with Kate, the founder! 🧘‍♀️✨

Kate Hamilton-Kapur has been a student of yoga for over 22 years and began her teacher training in 2011. She trained at the Dru Yoga Centre in Snowdonia and qualified as a Yoga and Meditation teacher in 2013 and 2015 respectively. She has also completed separate trainings in Yin Yoga, Partner Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Kate’s mission in life is to help busy people to develop the tools they need to slow down and find balance in all aspects of their lives through yoga, meditation and relaxation.

Kate brings her mindful style of yoga to Bodnant Welsh Food with an afternoon class on Tuesdays, evening classes on Wednesdays and a two classes on Thursdays.

Kate is also the creative force behind OM YOGA and oversees the vision to bring Wellness classes, events and workshops to Bodnant with a dynamic team of experienced teachers and facilitators to inspire and uplift the local community with Yoga, Pilates, Qigong, Sound Healing and Fitness.

The fresh air, the increased heart rate, the achy muscles (mostly from laughing), the serotonin from laughing, the Vitamin D from the sunlight (20 mins in daylight is enough to keep you topped up!)

🥾💚. In this article Dr Mosley explains why, staying fit through resistance training and aerobic exercise is a great way to support the immune system and possibly even increase the affect of a covid vaccine.

Well Hello... Nordic Walking ✅.. Nordic walking does both of these things and more.

Using the Nordic Poles correctly creates resistance ✅ which works the upper body, chest and arms.

Nordic Walking using the INWA 10 step process, incorporates 90% of skeletal muscle and therefore creates an all body aerobic work out, comparable to swimming. ✅

Add to this that the exercise is taken outdoors, fresh air, day light gaining the added benefit of Vit D production and happy hormones! You’re on to a winning form of sustainable exercise!!!

If you feel like your sleep and circadian rhythm is still
a little off from Daylight Savings last weekend, try this hack. Also called "sungazing", it's the act of looking towards the sun during dawn or dusk, when the ultraviolet-index is lowest.

Important to note, you must do this without prescription glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and not behind glass or window, all these things have UV layers that filter the light we need.

So today on our walk we talked about hydration 💧 and good 🥥fats! And their positive affect on the body. 💪

Good fats are like little magnets for holding on to water in all the right places in our body, such as skin, the brain, major organs and joints. I describe it like the oil in an car engine, making sure everything runs smoothly. Also it needs topping up, regularly.

How can we ensure we have optimum levels of good fats in our diet. Eat lots of nuts, seeds, avocados, oily fish, olives etc. 🥑🥜🐟

And a daily supplement. Of either fish oil of flax, also ladies, we benefit from starflower🌟 & borage oil for our mood and hormones. 🙂
