3 TIPS TO GET BACK INTO YOUR FITNESS ROUTINE 💪🏼💪🏼
1️⃣ hydrate.
After consuming a lot of food that’s high in salt and sugar, you can feel lethargic. Especially if you’ve been drinking alcohol too.
2️⃣ get moving.
Whether it’s a long walk, a cycle, a swim or gym session. Start getting back into your regular exercise routine.
3️⃣ eat well.
Start having 3 regular meals a day again, with plenty of fruit, veg, salad and lean protein. Limit your intake of chocolates, cakes and salted foods.
BE FIT & FESTIVE 🎄🥂
Christmas can be a bit overwhelming when it comes to festivities.
There’s a lot of tasty food on offer, a lot of events to indulge at, gifts that are chocolate or alcohol based…
All of which can leave us feeling like we’ve eaten or drank “waaay too much” - sound familiar?
Well a tip to help overcome overindulgence is to continue your active habits - whether this is via the gym or at home or getting 10k steps a day.
Remember to try to keep your diet balanced. If you know you’re going to a big buffet, eating out etc, then try to eat lightly earlier in the day.
If you’re consuming crimbo cocktails, then opt for low calorie options like vodka soda / diet fizzy or a glass of Prosecco. With hangover food, still choose wisely - lots of fruit, veg & lean protein! (And plenty of water!)
When it comes to chocolate treats, allow yourself a number of them, like 3. Be mindful when you’re eating them and enjoy the taste - rather than snuffling 12 and not even realising!

There’s no better feeling than when you recognise your own hard work paying off.
I’m entering week 6 of my own 12 week workout programme and I’m already seeing big changes.
It’s all about consistency.
There’s been plenty of days where I’ve thought:
🥱 “I’m too tired”
😑 “I’m not in the mood”
😒 “I don’t have enough time”
And although they’re all valid excuses and reasons not to train, I’ve grit my teeth and done it anyway. And never regretted the workout and thanked myself for not giving up.
So it shows you that even PTs have drops in motivation, it’s your determination that will get you through.
No one is ever motivated 100% of the time, but you have to talk yourself into it and think of your goals and your future self. Remember why you’re doing it!

Are you just doing your 3 sets of 12 reps or are you pushing to failure?
Are you lifting a weight you’re comfortable with or are you shaking on your last few reps?
Personal Trainers and Online Coaches can give you great guidance, structure and motivation but YOU have to be the one to push your limits. You know the most how much more you can lift, press, push, squat, run, fight, skip, row, swim or whatever else exercise you do!
You want to change your body, you have to push yourself 💥
What does your dinner look like?
Have you got a good balance of protein, vegetables and carbohydrates?
Here is a chicken heck mince with fried peppers and onions 🧅
Half a bag of microwave rice and a good portion of salad with low sugar, low cal sauce.
Protein and carbs are super vital in your diet to help with fat loss, energy fuel and muscle repair.
Make sure you’re choosing healthy options with less fat and aren’t so processed.

Exercise = Endorphins 🥳🥳
The science behind exercise should mean you feel great after working out.
But we often find so many excuses not to exercise, despite actually never regretting going to the gym or playing football, going on a run, doing that HIIT video at home.
So make it your goal to change your attitude towards exercise.
Don’t use it for punishment, instead of saying “I HAVE to workout today”, say “I GET to workout today”.
