Meet The Team!

Vicky is our Asset Manager here at Yorcation, she has over 22 years of experience in the industry, and her biggest achievement was gaining a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management at Northumbria University, which took her 5 years to achieve, whilst working part-time and having three children.

We asked Vicky a few questions;

What is your favourite part of what you do?
Every day is different, I enjoy looking and watching over the properties we have been entrusted with, ensuring they are to the standard and quality one would expect.

What do you think can be done to make the industry better?
Focusing on the holiday let industry – within York. The understanding this brings people (tourists) therefore money into the city. The restrictions being placed on this within York, when looking at planning and tightening up of the sector will only damage the centre – the historic nature of York invites tourists, these tourists need somewhere to stay!

Where do you see the future of the company?
Being a new company based in York, the future could be anything, whether this be expanding into areas further afield, expanding into areas other than holiday lets – small steps.

Favourite thing about York
Being born in York I love everything about it! Honestly, it must be the history of York and the incredible historic buildings you don’t have to look far to find.

What do you like best about where you work
Our cosy office is great, Michelle and James are both great to work with – it’s a very friendly and happy place.

Vicky also told us her favourite movie is Pretty Woman, she has a black cockapoo called Milo, her favourite quote is 'smile and the world smiles with you', and her favourite food is Indian.

James is our business development manager and has 7 years experience in the industry.

His favourite part of what he does is exceeding clients expectations, and he also believes that to make the industry better we need an improvement on the property software available on the market. His hope for Yorcation's future is that it becomes one of the most recognised property brands in York.

Happily married to my wife Emma and expecting our first child in May 👶

We want to congratulate James and his wife Emma on becoming expecting parents and wish them all the luck with the pregnancy.

Meet the team at Yorcation! Michelle Bailey is our director.

Michelle has 19 Years in the property industry across Residential Lettings, Holiday Lettings, and Serviced accommodation.

Her favourite part of what she does is:
As a company director of a holiday lets company, my favourite part of what I do is witnessing the joy and satisfaction that our guests experience during their stays. Being able to create memorable and exceptional experiences for individuals and families, providing them with a home away from home, is truly fulfilling. I take pride in ensuring that our properties offer not just accommodation, but a sanctuary where guests can unwind, make cherished memories, and connect with their loved ones. Moreover, the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry keeps me engaged and motivated, whether it’s embracing new trends, implementing innovative services, or ensuring the highest standards of comfort and satisfaction. Ultimately, seeing the happiness and contentment on our guests’ faces is the most rewarding aspect of my role as it embodies the essence of what we strive to achieve as a holiday lets company.

Michelle also has a 6 year old daughter who wants to one day be part of the Yorcation company, a 7 year old dog called olive who is like an office mascot, and her favourite food is Thai.
