CHILDREN ON STUN, SKELETAL FAMILY, MANUSKRIPT HEADLINE GOTH CITY 7: TO LIVE AND DIE IN LS

It is our great pleasure to announce the vast majority of our acts for Goth City 7.

On Thursday 13th July, The Fox & Newt yet again hosts our cabaret evening "A Night of the Dark Arts 7' featuring a headline performance from gothic rock goddess Alixandrea Corvyn, exquisite violin soundscapes from , Graeme Cooke reading us a selection of spook folk tales, and your (g)host AMereKat making their seventh straight Goth City appearance.

On Friday, Boom Leeds will see West Yorkshire goth legends Skeletal Family be our first festival headliners, with rising north-east post-punks Ghost Signals as special guests and international power trio FEATHER TRADE kick off proceedings, followed by DJs (TBA) until late.

The Saturday stage at Wharf Chambers sees the wonderful La Rissa uk return to headline after their Covid cancellation last year, special guests in the mega art-punks Arch Femmesis, riotous q***r darkwave from Moth Slut, pure audiogore from Hangingskeletons, and the long-awaited return to Leeds of SIOUXSIE SU***DE.

The Boom stage on Saturday sees '90s goth OGs Manuskript make their second Goth City headline appearance, with special guests in the sublime Promenade Cinema and wonderful opening act Hurtsfall who impressed everyone at Goth City 5 - followed by DJs (TBA) until late.

On the Extreme Stage on Boom 2 on Saturday, The Medea Project open up proceedings and deservedly return after impressing at Goth City in 2021 with our headliner yet to be announced.

On Sunday on the Wharf Chambers stage, the incredible The Glass House Museum rise to stage headline status after to so many great shows over the past few years. Rising garage duo West Wickhams, Leeds' very own Shallow Halo, and brand new electro rock trio Digital Harpy complete the bill.

And on Sunday evening at The Warehouse Leeds, second generation goth legends Children on Stun will bring the curtain down on an amazing weekend of live music, with special guests in goth royalty NOVUS.

The full ticket range on sale at 5pm on Monday 13th March, and all proceeds donated to PAFRAS (Positive Action For Refugees & Asylum Seekers). Stalls, socials and more events to be announced!

SPECIAL PAFRAS FUNDRAISING SHOW AT LEEDS WAREHOUSE - OCTOBER 21st

We are delighted to announce a special one-off show at Leeds Warehouse on October 21st to raise funds for the Goth City 2022 appeal for PAFRAS .

Leeds Warehouse is one of the most important and historic venues for the goth scene in the city, and has seen performances from great acts for decades, and the October show takes place 31 years since Rosetta Stone recorded their seminal live album ‘Under The Rose’ at the venue. The show features a great lineup with strong links to the city - Leeds' romantic goth vanguard Byronic S*x & Exile , special guests psychedelic goth powerhouses Deathtrippers , and opening are the rising gothic duo The Scarlet Hour .

The show will be a fundraising event for PAFRAS (Positive Action For Refugees & Asylum Seekers), for which Goth City Promotions aim to raise a further over £2000 over the rest of the year, on top of the £1300+ raised at this year's festival.

Tickets go on sale via Eventbrite and Ticketek at 4pm on Friday 2nd September.

It is fifteen years today since Sophie died. After thirteen days in hospital and after tests confirmed there was no hope, the machines were switched off. Twenty minutes later, Sophie died. That is the truth about violence and hate crime and that is where it takes us.

To a young woman having her life extinguished for what reason? Because she was an individual and looked like she wanted to. To all those other individuals out there who support us, who turned Bloodstock into a pink sea of love and support, who come to events and message us in solidarity, thank you. We are strong together.

Sylvia made our work her legacy. This is the first anniversary of Sophie’s death since we lost Sylvia.

We will continue to educate about prejudice and intolerance and work to shape a more empathetic world where we celebrate difference and are not afraid of it.

GOTH CITY 6 - JULY 7-10th!

Just two months to go until Leeds’ goth festival Goth City returns for its sixth edition, and now in its new role as a summer barnstormer!

Featuring Rose of Avalanche, Rhombus, Rome Burns, Witch of the Vale, Caroline Blind, La Rissa, Golden Age of Nothing, and a host of other acts and DJs in a city-wide extravaganza, all in aid of local refugee charity PAFRAS, it's an unmissable binge of goth in all varieties in it's natural habitat of Leeds. Unfortunately, due to a sporting event involving a funny shaped ball clashing with Coagulation- Gothic Soireé, The Royal Oak can no longer accommodate us in their function room on Saturday. HOWEVER, we have managed to secure alternate arrangements and will be hosting this month’s CLOT in the upstairs function room of The Artful Dodger Bar, which includes the added benefit of a much shorter walk to the usual Dodger afterparty.

SCHEDULE - the schedule has been updated with the stage times for all shows, so please acquaint yourselves with it over the next few days. It will also be published in the festival programme which all attendees will receive.

COVID - please arrange to take a negative Covid lateral flow test and update the results on the NHS app before attending. Lateral flow kits and sterilisation stations will also be available at shows throughout the weekend.

Having started the festival in 2016, and having raised over £12,000 for destitute local refugees since, we now feel that the conditions which made the event sustainable in the long term no longer exist. The time is right to move on to new ideas and challenges after this year's event.

Thank you to all our friends and allies for their support over the past 5 years.

So when we said this was a once-in-a-lifetime line-up in UK goth, we meant it! All the more reason not to miss out on what will be the first full-fat UK goth experience in the post-Covid era - tickets available now via Eventbrite!

It is with a sad heart we have learnt of the passing of a dear friend from the scene, Mike Sharrard You were a talented, kind and gentle man and we will all miss our conversations with you.
