𝙋𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 Phase 3 phonics begins with the continuation of single letter sounds. From here it then moves on to digraphs (two letters next to each other in a word that make one sound) and trigraphs (three letters next to each other in a word that make one sound). How are each of these sounds pronounced within phonics? Take a look at this video. ⬇️ #learningathome #homeworkhelp #primaryschoolhomework #earlyeducation #education #educationmatters #tutoring #tutoringservives #onlinetutoring #privatetutoring #privatetutor #privatetuition #mathstutoring #englishtutoring #primaryschool #homeed #homeeducationUK #homeeducator #homeeducating #learningstyles #homeeducators #teachingresources #phonics #earlyreading #earlyphonics #eyfs

𝙋𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 Phase 2 phonics looks specifically at single letters and the sounds they make. How are children taught to pronounce each sound phonetically? Letter formation activity
L E T T E R F O R M A T I O N I shared this video recently in my home education support group. It is an easy to set up activity to support letter formation. How it works: - Create your chosen letter out of playdough. - Follow the correct formation of the letter around with your finger, pressing the playdough in as you go. -This helps children physically feel and see where they have already been when creating the letter. You could even turn it into a race! Who can get to the end of their playdough letter first?!

Roll and read!
Roll and read! An easy to set up game that supports phonic skills at any level. How to play: 1. Choose your chosen sound(s) and create some word cards for them. 2. Take it in turns to roll the dice. 3. Take the corresponding number of the cards from the pile and read them aloud. 4. Continue taking it in turns to do this until all of the cards are gone. 5. The person at the end who has the most cards wins!

My three step process of teaching handwriting. ✍️

Parents of children in year 2 upwards! How do you teach times tables? 🤔 I'm sure you will agree that learning times tables is a vital maths skill, the trick to becoming fluent with them is practising little and often! This book is based on methods taught in schools and has a proven track record of improving results quickly. Method: - Choose one times table to practise for the week. - Set a 2 minute timer - Ask your child to complete as many questions as they can - Try to beat your score each day! The workbook comes with 27 pages of re-useable times table sheets, an information plan for parents of how best to use the book and a complimentary whiteboard pen to use with the book. It follows the national curriculum order of learning tables and is made by an experienced primary school teacher. Message me to order yours today for a reduced price of £5.50 plus postage.

✏️ Pencil grip ✏️ It is very important to address a poor pencil grip early on. If it is not corrected, it can affect speed and fluency as well as put undue stress on developing joints causing pain when writing for longer periods of time. The video below shows a great technique I've used many times with young children I've worked with. Give it a try! Video from Teach it DIY

A 3 stage reusable workbook to support the development of their fine motor skills and letter formation. Letters are grouped together in shape families that have similar physical movement needed to write them. Starting with physical manipulation of equipment to make letters, the workbook then moves onto pencil control and finally writing letters themselves. If your child no longer needs handwriting support, this is changed for a grammar board game!

Free part 1 maths game! Covers the core mental maths skills for your child's curriculum. This is for year 2 so includes number bonds to 10, 20 and 100 plus 2, 5 and 10 x tables.

A reusable maths challenge book. Can you beat your score of the previous day?! Whiteboard pen included so you can write straight onto the book and wipe off easily ready for next time.
