Ceolred Monger
ceolredmonger.co.uk . I make, source and supply replica historical stuff to museums, film companies, theaters, re-enactors, LRPers, etc.
Quiz time!
I just took delivery of (a lot!) of cloth - ends, seconds and over-runs bought unseen. It is excellent stuff, however there is a stack of 'short ends' of very thick high quality* boiled wool in natural white and brown (*A W Hainsworth). I plan to make arming caps/helmet liners.
My question is.... can you guess what it is left over from making?
Hi all. I may have been hacked. I replied to direct messages from someone relating to bonework however their profile does not come up on searching. The original message appeared with no permission needed so I assumed they were already in my contacts. Does this sound familiar?
I've put together a 'One-For-All' monster belt - aimed around PD Empire however suitable for most other fantasy LaRP -
Hero-belt with attachment points and a range of clip-on accessories.
Starter belt and some basic accessories £70
Belt and a comprehensive range of bits and spare clips to customise your own. £120
In relation to my previous message. Does anyone know of embroidered badge makers who could use a box full of pre-stiffened* patch cloth?
*That white non woven stuff you get on the back of patch badges.
Scored well at an auction - a big lot of polycotton twill. With industrial fabric cutters thrown in. Boiler suits or awnings anyone?😁
Routine work on hold as my 'co-worker' insists on essential assistance with a 'hands on, fur related, issue'. This may take some time.....
LarpCon kit fair was excellent. My thanks to all who helped make it happen, traded and visited. I never realised being the tiara mogul of the LaRP community would be so much fun 😁👸❤️
The romantic prospect of working with 'historical fabrics' meets the real world...🙄
Our new water bottle design has now been field tested.
An 800ml aluminium bottle in a faux leather holder. Comes on a sturdy cotton adjustable strap which can be unclipped.
A leather holder and/or strapped version is available on request.
(I never was a fan of the frame type as both a maker and user)
Those lovely people at LARPBook have featured us again. Enjoy.

How to Put on a Chaperon The late medieval Chaperon Hat is often mistaken for just that, a hat. In actuality it is an alternative and all together more stylish way of wearing a hood....
Charlie the Bakhmut Pup has many endearing qualities, helping with deadlines is not one. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=6383056015135041&id=100002921175139&post_id=100002921175139_6383056015135041
Last minute sword and game making before the voyage to Swanage Pirate festival this weekend..
'Ahoy there, Avast behind!'
My main Facebook profile has been cloned. Please don't respond to any friends requests for here or there. Ta.
I have a just acquired a batch of lovely beechwood boxes. Made as boxes for microscopes, I had intended to strip out the interiors however the dividers fit LaRP resources rather well. What do you think?
Big and shallow are c.350mm wide, 380m deep and 165mm high. Smaller are c. 285mm wide, 240mm deep, 210mm high.
(*Contents not included!)
First batch of skirt hikes in a while. These are double ring types with leather straps. For up to 2½"belt.
I'll do a few for wider belts. The next batch will be spring clips on braid.
Our friend Chows Emporium has been hit by fraudsters.
Please be careful making on-line purchases, don't support counterfeiters of fraudsters.
It has been brought to our attention that a company called “Bereore” has stolen our photographs and is advertising our clothing Fraudulently.
They are not selling items from Chowsemporium.co.uk / LARPCostumes.com they have no link to Chowsemporium.co.uk / LARPcostumes.com
Please don't go to this site as it is scam! See photos below.
Thank you to everyone that brought this to our attention.
As Ceolred Monger gears down for the festive season, I'll give a little update. My distraction job officially finishes tomorrow as the Covid-19 vaccination programme ends. My workshops and stock levels are frankly a neglected mess.... So there's lots of sorting out to do as a New Year resolution (the new ADHD meds will earn their spurs). Watch out for clearance deals and one-offs. I'll also looking for ways of clearing surplus fabric and such. If anyone has ideas or projects let me know - e.g. a while ago I helped with a 'Make a Basic T Tunic' workshop' with a local LARP system.
There will be lots of new stock on UK LARP KIT and system specific sites come the new year.
Happy Holidays! See you in a field soon. # # #
I've accidentally acquired some outdoor skittles.
We've all had those "Ooh! They're to good to pass up. Put them in the van" moments. Followed by what the heck was I thinking....
Anyone interested feel free contact me.... (Marchers?)
Chests, big and small....
We are busy making stuff and wrangling stock for a two week 'road-trip' to Empire LRP but first ..... https://www.facebook.com/164848417214615/posts/1615562472143195/
There have been rumours that a pirate invasion has been planned for the jubilee bank holiday (Friday and Saturday) wind of this has been sent to king George, and he is mobilising a militia of redcoats to counteract this movement……come along and see who will be victorious in this meeting of sworn enemys. Living history displays, cannon and musket demonstrations, live skirmishes and Captain Jack Sparrow (jax parrow) thrown in there for some seafaring golden age of piracy shenanigans. The whole event is free of charge. There will also be traders selling their shiny wares and great food, there is also some great atmosphere in the local red lion tavern in the evenings. So come along and enjoy the event. Open from 10am to 5pm both days
I'm on 😁
