Labara was born in Salkhino, where ages ago Georgian nobles used to craft wine with great passion...
It was late 2018 when two Georgians decided to leave their busy corporate life in Washington and get back to their roots in Georgia, the birthplace of wine 8000 years ago!
Kolkheti, magnificent land in the western Georgia, with mixing climate of Black Sea ad Caucasus mountains, is a home of more than a half of 500 species of Georgian grape.
The passion for the two became to make wine from the grapes grown in the historical micro-zones of western Georgia.
Labara LLC started its operations in Fall 2018 with the first production of dry red wine Ojaleshi from Salkhino micro-zone, that was developed by Charles Louis Napoleon Achille Murat, nephew of Napoleon, who got married to princess Salome Dadiani and moved to Georgia from France.
Our goal is to open up new chapter in the wine industry by introducing brilliant Georgian wine with its unique character, produced from hand-picked grapes. Challenged by competition from many excellent winemakers worldwide, we are determined to make every barrel better than previous one, not taking quantity in consideration but quality of the product.
Every bottle of Labara wine we sell, carries responsibility to be honorable ambassador of the birthplace of wine - Georgia.
