8.5 hour stream today! yikes!

Stream happening Friday night, 12/8, 10pm Eastern, duration 2 - 3 hours, beginning of a massive old-school adventure through a classic CRPG, a couple of hours of character creation, party building and our first steps into the world of Varn, the city of Sorpigal, the adventure of a lifetime! Let's gooooooooooooooo

Possibly dialing it way back for an upcoming stream. I mean way back, folks! How far back, Shaky? I'm glad you asked! Dionne Warwick had the number one song in the US at the time. My Commodore 64 was about to be upgraded to a Commodore 128. 1986!!! Heck yeah! Might & Magic Series. I played it then and I'm playing it now. Retro Gaming! My favorite in the series is 6, which came out in 1998. I'm playing that one now. I may start streaming that one a little here and there. If people don't throw rotten fruit at me, I may ease backwards to Might & Magic 1, which is a little shocking at just how archaic it is. Have to map everything by hand, graph paper, etc... crazy fun though, crazy hard too!

And Top Cop, was chatting with Yoda and he suggested waiting until December to try SoT again, once the new update launches on 11/30, so I'll wait til then. I still don't have much hope for it, but I will give it a shot then.

Will go live around 11pm tonight with the new "witching hour" late night streams. Playing haunted ghost hunting games through the midnight hour on wee nights. My work hours may change slightly soon, so this time might change, but for tonight I try this! Weekends will be less "scary" streams and more Lord of the Rings and other happy, chill stuff :)

getting massive amounts of rendering lag while test streaming. At first it was just Ghost Exile which I thought was just the lack of optimization with the indie game, but now it's also Phasmo and Gw2. This machine just can't handle playing and streaming at same time, which is why I threw together the ancient second machine in the first place. ugh
I am going to try to disable all of the new flashy frames and labels, etc... if that dont help we'll delete all of the new scenes and try to just stream as "no frills" as possible for a while.

Here's another. In the beginning I am painting the sigil and lighting the urn, honoring the good part of the soul. This takes place in the middle of the ritual to exile the ghost. Well, as soon as I light the urn, the ghost starts hunting. Just like in Phasmo, it locks the door so you can't get out of the house. In this game you need to hide in closets and cabinets. Unlike in Phasmo, while hiding, sometimes the ghost will "sense" you in the closet and it will stand directly outside of it while breathing heavily. During this time, you'll get a mini game to control your breathing. You must keep your breathing in the little green section of the line by using your keyboard to control it. If you dip out of this little green area, you're dead... the ghost will throw the doors open and clap your cheeks. This one is dark but you're seeing is as I see it while playing. This has no jump scare so it's save to raise volume and listen to the ghost breathing right outside of my closet.

This is a short clip of me playing some Ghost Exile this morning. Game is terrifying and I love it lol.

So... the very moment this clip starts, you'll hear the ghost run up behind me, but it's not there when I spin around. You'll need some volume but you'll hear it. Then a few moments later, as soon as I walk into the garage, you'll hear a faint wheezing/breathing sound. It happens a few times within a few seconds and was REALLY creepy. Never did show itself, but it was making all kinds of creepy sounds!

Wheredaybe? Where is that breathing noise coming from?

Question for folks who have seen my streams before... how many channel points do you currently have? I am setting up jump scare sound alerts this week and am trying to make the really loud and scary ones be a little further between lol

I'm making an astronomical amount of progress on this stream today! Just praying that in the end this all works smoothly from one machine 🙏

This morning I was able to get OBS (stream software) running on the gaming machine. I spent 7 hours converting the sound system routing through the game system as well. Everything, and I really mean everything, related to the stream... like thousands of files, folders, sounds, music, scenes, transitions, lighting software, the stream deck profiles, all of it, were on the system that fried. I made progress today but there's a ton more to do before I can stream again. The good news it that I am determined and have some PTO coming up that I can hopefully scramble up a system that works here. Gonna make do with what I've got and find a way to get 'er done!
