The replacement of the ubiquitous leaking, too hot/too cold conservatory with sunroom that provides connection with the garden and (with the removal of an internal wall) light to pe*****te into the previously dark kitchen. Our Client Cate said:
'Our 50s chalet bungalow has been transformed! Paul's design has provided a large, light filled family space that flows onto the terrace and a wonderful place to eat and relax'.

Time to revisit our award winning cottage at Bordeaux:
Only 3.1 metres wide and 14 metres long, we transformed this long, dark building into a light, bright home through efficient use of space, natural light and clever planning.

7 years ago we won our first Guernsey Design Award with Rocquemer for Marian and Jerry Root. A major design intention was for the house to blend into the landscape as the materials mellowed and planting enveloped the house. Photos here show it newly built and also more recently as the garden (by Ruth Craze) matured and rambled over the house.

Our recently completed garage and garden room extension to an Edwardian cottage. The soft-modern approach compliments the original building and new additions address the impressive coastal views and connect with the rear terraced garden.
Thanks to the Contractor RC Ashplant for their excellent craftsmanship, T&G Engineers and of course the close collaboration with our Clients.

Anne's redesign of the RGGC bar and dining room has transformed the Clubhouse and resulted in an increased footfall of members and it being hired out for functions and events.
It shows how good design can enhance a space, encourage use and be financially beneficial in a commercial environment.

Second project shortlisted - The Renovation and Extension of a derelict barn on a special site to create a family home.

The Client said:

'Paul and Anne have designed and delivered a beautiful, unique family home that we absolutely love.

Paul designed a scheme sensitive to our family needs and the site. He steered us smoothly through the project from design through to completion.

Anne developed the interior/exterior design palette that took over seamlessly from Paul’s architectural design. The myriad of design decisions required was handled by Anne with efficiency'

We are so pleased that this project designed for a young couple and their family has been short listed in the GDA 2022.

"We loved working with Paul, he understood our needs and converted them into a truly beautiful home that is perfect for our family. The house is both stunning to look at but also so easy to live in. We could not have asked for a better designed home."

Continuing our look back through previous winners, this is Rocquemer from Paul Langlois Architects, which won the Residential New Build (over ÂŁ250k) in 2016.

The H-plan house merges into its natural setting and maximises the spectacular views over Guernsey’s South Coast. It has been designed to reflect a subtle, contemporary interpretation of the New England style that their client had grown up with.
