Hi Fam, I’m Célia and I founded Bonobo Concept Store with Peter in 2018. All these years working on Bonobo in addition to my “full time job.” I was scared to take the bold step and go full time on my dream. What if we don’t make it, what if we can’t pay the rent, what if, what if… In September last year, I lost my 8 to 5 job and finally decided it was more than time to go full time on my baby!! 🐒

I read once: “Jump and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall.”

We pride ourselves on creating unique, high-quality pieces right here in Accra. Our craftsmen produce furniture that will last you a lifetime (and beyond).

Bonobo is 5!

2018: Bonobo was born. We sold our first 12 pieces, made by the infamous roadside artisans (a lot of stress and sleepless nights with delays, excuses and all the stories that most of you can relate to.) 🥴

2019: We started branching out and producing more pieces (lamps, mirrors, chairs, tables etc.) and realized that demand was high which encouraged us to push even harder! 👊🏽

2020: We hired our first employee, a welder who used to work at the back of our house. We survived Covid and decided to build our first small workshop in Tse Addo.

2021: We got our first « big » project and Peter quit his 9-5 to focus full time on Bonobo. Until then Bonobo was only a side business. We both had our 9-5 and Bonobo was the 5-9! 👏🏽

2022: Bonobo was quickly growing from child to teenager and we needed a bigger workshop. We searched for land for 9 months and couldn’t find anything legit within our budget so we decided to lease a big property in Nungua to build the new workshop and create our own little showroom.

2023: We moved to the new workshop and we've hired 7 new employees so far this year. We're now a team of 16! (+1 with Swaggy 🐶).
