In memory of the great American musician PRINCE, I visited and explored his PAISLEY PARK in Chanhassen Minneapolis, the colourful museum cm playground for creatives where he recorded for nearly 30 years. Madonna, Tevin Campbell, REM, and Lizzo have recorded and mixed albums in the studio here.

Having loved his musical craft for decades, I am honored to have crossed paths with Prince on this journey of life and music when he was celebrated with a lifetime achievement Award by BET in 2010; same year in which BET introduced the International Act category to honour Sade, KOJO ANTWI, Corinne Bailey-Rae, P-Square, M.I., K’naan, Dizzee Rascal, Hip Hop Pantsula, Chip, and Estelle. This later led to the introduction of the African Act category now followed by other award organizations. Prince also known as the unpronounceable symbol (known to fans as the "Love Symbol") was often referred to as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince (or TAFKAP) or simply The Artist (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016). The American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer and actor who sold over 100 million records worldwide, ranking him among the best-selling music artists of all time has a legacy that lives on in his music, and estate Paisley Park which I was honored to explore in his memory.

He was known for his flamboyant, androgynous persona; his wide vocal range, which included a far-reaching falsetto and high-pitched screams; and his skill as a multi-instrumentalist, often preferring to play all or most of the instruments on his recordings. His music incorporated a wide variety of styles, including funk, R&B, rock, new wave, soul, synth-pop, pop, jazz, blues and hip hop.
Rest in peace PRINCE.
Your music, and creative legacy, lives on.
