SOD CUTTING CEREMONY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF VIP WARD BY CHURCH OF PENTECOST, SUHUM AREA The Church Of Pentecost - SUHUM AREA
Today, on 9th May, 2024, the Suhum Government Hospital received a generous philanthropic gesture from the Church of Pentecost, Suhum area, initiating the construction of ultra modern VIP ward for the hospital. This endeavor aims to elevate healthcare standards within the municipality.
The sod-cutting ceremony, signifying the commencement of this significant project, was attended by the Presbytery and leadership of the church, as well as management and staff members of the hospital.
In his opening address, Apostle Patrick K. Aseyore, the Area Head of the church, emphasized the church's unwavering commitment to societal transformation and its corporate responsibilities. Drawing inspiration from the church's mission to be a beacon of light and emulate Christ's teachings, he underscored the hospital's significance as a place of healing and revival.
Referring to 1st Kings 9:13-19, Apostle Aseyore highlighted King Solomon's biblical example of labor force mobilization, stressing the imperative of constructing structures for societal betterment.
The hospital's management and staff members expressed profound gratitude to the Church of Pentecost, Suhum area, for their selfless dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and serving the community.
On 27th March, 2024 our Accident and Emergency Unit received four police officers following a tragic incident. Despite the severity of the situation, our team worked tirelessly to provide immediate medical attention.
Today, 28th March, 2024, we were honored to welcome the Inspector General of Police and other members of the police hierarchy to our hospital. Their visit was not only a gesture of gratitude but also a testament to the exceptional care and professionalism demonstrated by our dedicated staff during this challenging time.
As we continue to prioritize the health and safety of all individuals entrusted to our care, we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of medical excellence and compassionate service.
CLEANUP EXERCISE BY SUHUM TECHNICAL INSTITUTE Suhum Vocational / Technical Institute - Suvotech IN COMMEMORATION OF THEIR 60TH ANNIVERSARY
On 1st March , 2024, Suhum Technical Institute, as part of its 60th-anniversary celebration, organized a community-wide cleanup at Suhum Government Hospital. The event, commencing at 9:00 am on the hospital premises, saw the enthusiastic participation of approximately 250 students.
Focused areas for cleaning included the Accident and Emergency ward, General OPD block, Main Pharmacy block, Maternity and Kids ward, Male and Female blocks, and other significant areas.
The management of Suhum Government Hospital extends its gratitude to the Management and staff of Suhum Technical Institute for spearheading this commendable initiative. We look forward to sustaining this collaborative effort in the future.

WORKING VISIT OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL OF GHANA HEALTH SERVICE TO SUHUM GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL
On 20th December, 2023, Suhum Government Hospital had the privileged of hosting Dr. Anthony Adofo Fosu, the Deputy Director General of Ghana Health Service. The purpose of this visit was to conduct a working visit to the region, involving monitoring and supervisory exercises.
Present at the event were key figures, including the Eastern Regional Director of Health Service, Deputy Director of Administration, and a delegation from the Regional Health Directorate, as well as the Municipal Director of Health Service, Management of Suhum Government Hospital, and staff members.
The welcome address was said by the Municipal Director of Health Service of Suhum. In his opening remarks, he officially welcomed the Deputy Director General and his team to the municipality and expressed his profound gratitude for choosing the Suhum municipality among the working visit within the Region.
He provided the background insight of health service delivery within the municipality and indicated that, the health facilities within the municipality serves a population of 130,900. He further indicated that, the municipality has only one District Hospital, 5 health centers, 3 private hospitals, 2 herbal hospitals, and 29 CHPS zones.
Addressing challenges facing the hospital, he noted that, there are insufficient infrastructures, human resource gaps, inadequate accommodation for health personnel and high number of non- mechanized staff straining the institution's IGF.
Acknowledging these challenges, the Deputy Director General commended the hospital and the municipality for their commitment and dedication to continuous service delivery. He emphasized the importance of team work, the need to recognize the strength that everyone brings to the team. He encouraged all to create an amicable and friendly environment for streamlining service delivery.
In closing remarks, the hospital's management expressed overwhelming excitement to the Deputy Director General and the Regional Health Directorate team for their visit, recognizing their solidarity in building a robust healthcare system.
SUHUM GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL ORGANIZED ITS MAIDEN STAFF FUN GAMES.
In a remarkable display, the hospital organized it's maiden staff fun games on 1st December, 2023. This is to resonate and motivate staff for their hardwork and fostering social connections among Staff. The event saw an impressive turnout of approximately 320 staff members engaging in diverse activities such as; ludo, football Small post, lime and spoon, table tennis, sack race, tag of war, draft, Oware, eating competition and others.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire hospital team for their enthusiastic participation and contributing greatly in making the program a success.
Earlier today, the hospital hosted its monthly clinical conference for November 2023, featuring a presentation by Physician Assistant Charles Acheampong on Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Management.
Suhum government hospital is hosting an engaging staff fun games event for all staff. This initiative reflects Management's commitment to fostering positive work environment, motivating the staff and providing an avenue for socialization. The event is scheduled for 1st December, 2023
The planned activities include; Ludu, cards, Ampe, draft, Oware, Sack race, Lime and spoon, Fill the bottles, Table tennis and Football small poles.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October, Suhum Government Hospital is taking a proactive stance in its cooperate social responsibilities. We are excited to announce a week-long Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign scheduled from October 23rd to October 27th, 2023, within the Suhum municipality. This year's campaign is themed "Keeping Her in the Picture: A Call to Everyone to look out for the Well-being of the important Women in their Lives."
