A massive thanks goes out to Jack Ayre who has been part of the United Through Sport team in Ghana over the last year. His final thought:

"This past year has been the most amazing experience of my life. The football academy boys have kept me going through some of the hard times and they never fail to make me smile. I am proud of every last one of them and look forward to seeing them playing at Anfield in the near future (hopefully for Liverpool). I would like to thank everyone who I have met over this last year for making it so amazing."

A huge moment for us in Ghana as we complete our 4G football pitch. Well done to James Dzandza and the team.

We are looking forward to welcoming many young sports coaches onto our projects in Argentina, Ghana, Saint Lucia, South Africa and Thailand in the next few weeks. Safe travels and see you soon for a trip of a lifetime.

As we celebrate our GA HOMOWO FESTIVAL, we need to remind ourselves the relevance of taking stock and sharing what we have. Our growing community of ONM celebrants is a testament to this caring spirit of our communities and spending at our markets to improve our local economy.

We are thrilled to announce that GHANA DESIGN NETWORK and our 'bosses', the MARKET WOMEN of ONM are working as a team to really make this collaboration effective and sustainable leading to an autonomous management team led by the community. We are excited and humbled by the energy and passion being demonstrated and hope that this next FIESTA will introduce new initiatives as an offshoot to the Main Event.

This includes our design competition and branding workshops currently taking place, where the market activities is the focus of innovative design explorations, with the market women.

What do you see?
___A billion dollar business solution from Africa? Yes!

The other day I was listening to Logan Green, the co-founder of a company called Lyft, explain what inspired him to start his business, now a multibillion dollar company based in Silicon Valley, and rapidly expanding in the U.S. and globally.

Hold on to your seat because this is going to blow you away!

As Green explained, "I was inspired by what I saw African entrepreneurs do to solve transport problems, whilst traveling in the African country of Zimbabwe. I thought to myself, why don't we do that in America?"

Green was a young tech entrepreneur interested in finding a solution for the transport problems he saw in his hometown of Los Angeles, a densely populated California city of almost 4 million people. He wondered why so many people, including himself, wasted so much time stuck in traffic jams. He concluded it was because each car on the road carried just one or two passengers, especially in morning and evening rush-hour traffic.

"Why can't people share cars when going in the same direction?" he wondered.
Then, whilst traveling on holiday in Zimbabwe, Green noticed that cars coming from high density townships were always full, and asked why:

"We give each other lifts!" one Zimbabwean driver explained.

"You mean it's a kind of ‘ride share’?"

"Yes!"

"Do they charge?"

"Yes, of course, we charge each other."

The young entrepreneur headed back with this idea to solve an American problem. His solution was to build a software "App" which helps you find a "lift" from someone driving in your direction!

In 2006 Green co-founded his first ride-sharing company, Zimride, which grew to become the largest ride-sharing community across the USA! In 2013 Zimride was acquired by Enterprise, a large international rental car agency.

In 2012 he co-founded his new company, Lyft, which this year was already valued at about $2.5bn by top investors!

Let me remind you the very first question I asked you when I started this post:

"What do you see?" I was quoting a question God asked Prophet Jeremiah.

All around you are challenges, yes, but they are also great opportunities for you!

Youth Month! "Think critically"
