Favor City Prayer Center (FCPC) as part of our 3 Days MEGA CRUSADE in Donkorkrom, Afram plains on June 17th, 2022 donated the sum of 10,000.00 Ghana Cedis to the Presbyterian Hospital, Donkorkrom of which
GHS 5,000.00 is to be directed towards the payment of medical Bills for, and clothes to the parents and kids who were on admission during the occasion.

*Update On ICT Training by Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah*

All constituents of Afram Plains North who used the online application link to apply for the ICT Training to note the following;

1. Training Starts on Monday 4th October, 2021.

2. It's a one week intensive training.

3. Snack and Lunch will be provided by MP.

4. Certificates will be issued to all participants after successful completion.

5. All participants who have personal laptops should come along with them to make the training more easier and convenient.

The committee tasked to screen persons who opted for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive positions nationwide and make recommendations presented its report a few weeks ago to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mr. George Ofori has been recommended by the committee to be renominated as the DCE. He worked well with the constituency executives and the PC. His vision is to see sufficient social infrastructure in the district.


He is currently the D.C.E. He was the Constituency Chairman, Afram Plains South; 2014 – 2017; 2010 -2014; 2006 – 2010.



He holds a degree in Professional Studies in Education, University of Education, Winneba (Kumasi Campus); 2000 – 2002 and a Building Construction Advanced, Kumasi Technical Institute; 1991 – 1993

Court grants bail to 26 herdsmen arrested with arms in Afram Plains

The Koforidua Circuit Court ‘B’ Presided by Her Honour Mercy Adei-Kotei has admitted bailing all 26 accused herdsmen arrested by the Anti-Armed Robbery taskforce in possession of arms and ammunition at Donkorkrom in Afram Plains North District in Eastern Region.
The accused persons were provisionally charged with seven counts but only the charge of Unlawful Assembly was relied on as Prosecution admitted errors in other charges which will be amended.

The accused persons are Sariki Iddrisu Sambo, Issak Ali, Aliu Waale, Abubakari Mohammed, Umaro Balla, Aliu Umaro, Abubakari Ibrahim, Ibrahim Abubakari, Abdulai Madela and Usumanu Umaro Dandaade.

The rest are Abass Umaro, Waale Sindoh, Mohammed Abubakari, Amadu Issah, Umaro Bawa, Mohammed Abubakari Jamalla, Alhaji Umaro Mohammed, Mohammed Bello, Sulley Usmanu, Abass Ibrahim, Alhaji Umaro Mohammed, Usuman Umaro and Sumani Abubakari.

The facts of the matter presented by the Prosecuting officer Kwasi Opare Wiredu, a State Attorney are that on August 29, 2021, at about 1:00 pm, the Anti Robbery operational team at Donkorkrom led by DSP Lovelace Kofi Glago in a joint exercise with personnel from the Donkorkrom Division and District upon tip-off intercepted and arrested the suspects who had attempted to escape.

They were onboard Toyota Tacoma pick-up with registration number AW 983-20, Ford Pick Up with registration number GE 7066-11, and motor tricycle with registration number M-21-EN 635, at Donkorkrom township in front of Glory Oil Filling station.



The taskforce retrieved one foreign pistol, three locally manufactured pistols, four single-barrel shotguns, 66 live AAA and BB cartridges, eleven 410 cartridges, ten 7.65mm ammunition,17 machetes, and two daggers.

A search was extended to the rooms of suspect Iddrisu Sambo and Issaka Ali at Donkorkrom Zongo and at one of the rooms of Idrissu Sambo which twelve (12) BB cartridges were found.

None of the accused persons was able to produce documents on the weapons and ammunition.

The prosecution, therefore, prayed the court to remand the accused persons to enable the police to complete the investigation.

The defence counsel Lawyer Alex Gyamfi argued that a child member of the Fulani community was kidnapped which the family reported the Fulani Chief who is the first accused person -Sarki Iddrisu Sambo who also lodged a formal complaint at Donkorkrom Divisional Police command.

While on their way to the police station to join the police to rescue the victim, the Anti Armed robbery taskforce arrested them.

He said the accused Fulani Chief and other accused persons were not in good health therefore prayed the court to grant bail to the accused persons who have spent almost 400 hours in police custody.

The court heard the defence counsel and granted a bail sum of Ghc100,000 with two sureties each.

One of the accused persons collapsed in court and was rushed to the hospital.

Case adjourned to September 20th, 2021

Yesterday, there was some arrest of individuals with ammunitions at the Glory Oil Filling Station (beside old RAP FM building). The arrest happened between the hours of 12:00 to 13:00 at Donkorkrom.

This morning, there is a news reportage circulating, reportedly to be emanating from CitiNews. After reading the news item thoroughly, I think the Ghana Police Service needs to come back to us on their side of the story once again.

In as much as the arrest was timely, swift and prudent, I think they are still covering up some aspects of the story.

After the arrest, it was rumoured that, the people were actually going to rescue one of their own. Yes, sources has it that, one of their own was kidnapped some weeks ago and the Police were duly informed.

If the above happens to be true, what actions have the Police taken so far in rescuing the kidnapped person(s)? Is this a sign that, the citizens don't believe in the Police anymore to the extent that, they are now fighting kidnappers on their own?

I had series of calls from my seniors (journalists) yesterday between the hours of 17:00 and 21:00. They were all trying to find out what actually transpired. My response to them was a simple one: "there is more to this than we are being told so I can't give an accurate account of the story"

When issues of these nature pop up, coupled with how the Police recently brutally treated the people, then we begin to ask ourselves questions. Questions that we know nobody would openly answer because they will implicate themselves.

I suggest the police should come out clearer on what transpired yesterday because the story put out there, is too shallow. No wonder they never commented on how brutally the Anti-Robbery Police Task Force was beating people in town.

Its a year already and I can still remember the convoy we had that day. It was in your car. We drove to the supermarket for some few drinks as we were preparing for your birthday party.

Among all the things we discussed, you asked me to be focused. You encouraged and pleaded with me on that very day not to let the storms of life discourage me.

I still remember the opportunity you offered me to make some inputs. I am glad, the few inputs I made on that day were taken and I have seen some of them yielding results.

On this very day, I wish you nothing more than a life that is fulfilling. It is my prayer that, your actions behind the scenes, make positive impact on the life of the people you represent.
