Following the successful engagement with the Forestry department in CRR Kudang, the YIL-Network Gambia Chapter in Collaboration with the Forestry department in CRR will conduct the yearly tree Planting exercise in Kudang Central River Region CRR South.
As part of our thematic area number of Climate Change Mitigation, we are committed to plan over 3000 trees across the Country within the next 2 years.

The Youth International Leadership Institute (YIL-Network) Gambia Chapter wishes to congratulate *ASP Omar Sanneh* who was a Participant of YIL-Network Institute Cohort 9 and an Award Ambassador.

ASP Sanneh was born in a village called Mandina in Central Kiang, Lower River Region in the year 1983.

He joined the Gambia
Police Force in the year 2008 as a Recruit and rose through the ranks as Cadet Inspector in the year 2011 and confirmed to Inspector in 2013 and handled position of Officer in-charge of Soma Investigation Department.

In 2017, Mr. Sanneh was promoted to the rank of ASP and became the Regional Crime Coordinator for Lower River Region.

Later in 2019, he became head of Investigation Anti Crime Unit and then as Station Officer from various police stations and being promoted to the rank of DSP in July 2024.

Please join me to joyously congratulate this magnificent fellow and a leader of impeccable track record.

The management of YIL-NETWORK Gambia Chapter wishes to extend to all members, friends, family and colleagues the sad news bearing the sudden demise of the mother of Nyima Gomez, a very dedicated and committed treasurer to the Gambia Chapter executive.

Nyima's mother was involved in a fatal accident today 30th April 2024 leading to her death.

The burial is slated for Thursday 2nd May 2024 at Sanchaba Sulay Jobe.

On behalf of YIL-NETWORK International, we send our special condolence to the family of Nyima and pray for her mother's eternal peace.

As it marks yet another special day of your lecture with our renowned facilitator Mr. Samba Baldeh with the course "Mental Health ".

I commit to superficially narrate about the status of Mr Baldeh, who is a young dedicated vibrant Youth who is not only compassionate but also exceptional in shaping and impacting the lives of many fellow Youths.

Following his endless leadership passion and yardstick to propell in higher heights, Mr Baldeh underwent through these stages to reap the fruits of his hardwork and sacrifices:

▪︎The National coordinator of School and Community Mental Health awareness program under the international voluntary mental health organization (IVMHO).

▪︎ A social worker, a Coach and a Mental Health councillor.

▪︎ A third year Fellow of Nitte Foundation

▪︎A former teacher, a volunteer, and a youth activist , peace advocate and Mental Health advocate in The Gambia.

▪︎ In his capacities he fights against injustice, believes in the equal treatment of all humans, and have a belief that there is nothing impossible. As his services to humanity shows how unalienable his love is for human growth.

As he takes over the mantle to pour and deliver the acquired ages of experience, please let's join in fully welcoming and keenly follow-up as he lead us through.

Hello greetings to all our wonderful Leaders, Participants and Change-makers.

In limelight, it's with high sense of gratitude and appreciation that we introduce to you a molten magma fountain of knowledge who is non other than our dynamic Facilitator, Ms Mariama Sallah.

Ms Sallah is a young Gambian woman born in the Central River Region (Dingerai Village) and now lives in Old Yundum, The Gambia, West Africa.
She completed high school and then attended the Gambia College where she obtained an Advance Diploma Secondary ( Specialist in English Language and Science).

From 2019 to 2023, Ms Sallah served as a qualified teacher at Kerewan Senior Secondary School. Sallah is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree at the University of The Gambia.

Alongside her academic journey, Mariama has been so passionate about social work and voluntarism since childhood. She started the humanitarian service at a very young age. Due to her passion in serving humanity, she attended series of trainings both nationally and internationally. She also works with different NGO's in Gambia and Abroad.

Ms Sallah is currently the Global Team Coordinator for Peace360 Initiative, a global initiative that focuses on mental health and conflict transformation. She is the chairperson of Peace360 Global team, supervises the Global team of the organization as well as different P360 daughter organizations through the organisations country representatives across the world.

She is a certified Peace Ambassador, Peace Advocate and Peace Educator. She is also a member of Nonviolence Advocate Association (NAA) in The Gambia.

Mariama is the *Co- founder of Peace360 Initiative Gambia* and served as President of the organization from 2021-2023 before she was promoted as the Executive Assistant to the president. As a result of her commitment and dedication, she was later re-promoted to the Global Team Coordinator of the organization .

She is also the *Co-founder of Network of African Advocates of Peace (NAAP) Gambia* and served as vice president of the organization in the Gambia during it’s operation in the country. She is also a member of Rock Liners Peace Network in Uganda.

In February 2019, *Ambassador Sallah won The Peace Builder of the month Award by youth Advocates of Peace and Community Empowerment Cameroon (YAPCEC)*, and has been issued series of certificates of recognition from international organizations. Also, she served as an Election observer and supervisor for Peace Ambassadors during the election cycle in the Gambia ( 2020-2021).

Mariama is the *CEO of an online training platform ( Mariam's Special Events)* where she offers International trainings on Pressing Issues in Africa and Beyond.

In March 2024, Mariama organized an *Online International Training for over 125 people across nations on Anger Management and Basic Understanding of Suicidality* through her platform Mariam's Special Event.

Sallah has been certified by different organisations on :
Peace and conflict transformation, mediation, mental health, leadership, conflict resolution, Anger Management etc. She is also part of the first badges of Youth International Leadership program and thereby a YIL Alumnus. She has appeared in series of radio and television programs as well as other social media platforms

Ms Mariam Sallah has coordinated and established many *peace clubs* in the Gambia and mentored a lot of young people on Peace Advocacy, Conflict Resolution and Diversity.

Verily! *Mariama Sallah's* dedication and commitment is a ten - fold of some men regarding her as an Iron Lady to impact lives of human beyond boundaries, regardless of race or origin.

Of all the above aforementioned qualities we read along, let's unanimously welcome Ms Mariama Sallah to give us a taste of her prowess.

*HANDING OVER OF CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION TO AFRICELL GSM COMPANY BY THE YIL-NETWORK GAMBIA CHAPTER*

Today the YIL-Network Gambia Chapter Executive Members represented by the *Assistant Secretary General AMB: Alagie Darboe and the Country Director AMB: Abdourahman Bah handed over to AFRICELL GSM COMPANY a *certificate of recognition* for their contribution in the just concluded Teen Seminar organized by the Chapter on the 1st March, 2024 at the Brikama Regional Office Hall. The council wishes to thank the management of Afticell for their kind contribution and gestures in supporting young people in such a good initiative. During the award given ceremony the AFRICELL representative Mr. Modou Faye thank the Chapter for it's recognition, saying it was never expected from us but that the award is truly appreciated and that we are assured of their continuos support anytime needed. He Mr. Modou Faye said that the chapter can always try to write to them at least two 2 or one 1 an a half Month prior our any activity for assistance and make the proper follow up which will help the management to remember and make the necessary support. Mr. Modou Faye appraised the Executive Members for the great work and encouraged us to keep the ball rolling and never to give up due to constrains or any Challenges.
Seemingly, this recognition us meant for building strong partnership between the Chapter and the Company (Afticell) for an everlasting collaboration.
While we continue to stride for progress, the Council wishes to assure it's membership our high and unwavering commitment for a successful tenure.
