Bull-leaping is a term for various types of non-violent bull fighting. Some are based on an ancient ritual from the Minoan civilization involving an acrobat leaping over the back of a charging bull (or cow). Ritual leaping over bulls is a motif in Middle Bronze Age figurative art, especially in Minoan art, and what are probably Minoan objects found in Mycenaean Greece, but it is also sometimes found in Hittite Anatolia, the Levant, Bactria and the Indus Valley. It is often interpreted as a depiction of a rite performed in connection with bull worship.

Athens the Greek Goddess of wisdom and war ! She is goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts and skill. She is known most specifically for her strategic skill in warfare and is often portrayed as companion of heroes and is the patron goddess of heroic endeavour.
Athena was born from ZEUS after he experienced an enormous headache and she sprang fully grown and in armour from his forehead. She has no mother but one of the most commonly cited stories is that Zeus lay with Metis, the goddess of crafty thought and wisdom, and then swallowed her whole as he feared she will give birth to a child more powerful than him because of a prophecy – but she had already conceived.

In Greek mythology, the Minotaur is a mythical creature portrayed in Classical times with the head and tail of a bull and the body of a man . He dwelt at the center of the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus, on the command of King Minos of Crete. The Minotaur was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus. This magnificent rhyton imitates a bull, the most important animal in Minoan religion. The original piece has been found and is exposed to the museum in Heraklion of Crete.

Zeus the skies and thunder God in ancient Greek religion, who rules as king of the gods o Mount Olympus. Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea, the youngest of his siblings to be born, though sometimes reckoned the eldest as the others required disgorging from Cronus's stomach. In most traditions, he is married to Hera, by whom he is usually said to have fathered Ares, H**e, and Hephaestus. Zeus was also infamous for his erotic escapades. These resulted in many divine and heroic offspring, including Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Persephone, Dionysus, Perseus, Heracles, Helen of Troy, Minos, and the Muses. He was respected as an allfather who was chief of the gods and assigned roles to the others "Even the gods who are not his natural children address him as Father, and all the gods rise in his presence. Zeus' symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull, and oak. Zeus is frequently depicted by Greek artists in one of two poses: standing, striding forward with a thunderbolt leveled in his raised right hand, or seated in majesty.

Caryatids are draped, sculpted female figures, supportive Goddesses so to speak, used as decorative support in place of columns or pillars, called in Greek Karyatides. The most famous caryatids of Greece Stand guard over the Erechtheion of the Acropolis, Athens. In the ancient town of Karyes, Laconia, in the Peloponnese, was the sanctuary of Artemis Caryatis. The young girls, the maidens of Karyes, the Karyatides, watched over and cared for the sanctuary, each year, on the celebration of Artemis, the young girls visited the sanctuary, carrying upon their heads, heavy amounts of fruit and walnuts as offerings, and this is how the name caryatid is thought to have come about. Originally, for over two and a half thousand years, six of these beauties, carved from Pentelic marble, mined from the slopes of Mount Pentelicus and standing two and a half meters tall, watched over the south porch of the Erechtheion on the north side of the Acropolis, Athens.
Sadly, while plundering the Acropolis from 1801 to 1805, Lord Elgin removed one of these sacred sisters and she now stands alone in the British museum London, with the rest of the looted Parthenon Marbles. In 1978 the five caryatids were removed from the Erechtheion, and replaced with replicas, to save them from the pollution of Athens, and taken to the Acropolis Museum, where they remained on permanent display until they were taken to the New Acropolis Museum which opened in 2009. The five caryatids are displayed, with a place ready and waiting for their sixth sister, should she return home from London.

Greek Armour (Panoply) !! Ancient Greek weapons and armour were primarily geared towards combat between individuals. Their primary technique was called the phalanx, a formation consisting of massed shield wall, which required heavy frontal armour and medium-ranged weapons such as spears. Soldiers were required to provide their own panoply, which could prove expensive, however the lack of any official peace-keeping force meant that most Greek citizens carried weapons as a matter of course for self-defence. Because individuals provided their own equipment, there was considerable diversity in arms and armour among the Hellenistic troops. The poorest citizens, unable to afford the purchase or upkeep of military equipment, operated on the battlefield as psiloi or peltasts fast, mobile skirmishing troops. The most vital part of the panoply was the Aspis, a large, round shield commonly made from a layer of bronze, wood, and leather. Weapons that used copper were becoming obsolete at the time. This is because copper was very weak compared to iron and bronze weapons. Iron was plentiful back then and allowed smaller nations in Greece to arm themselves with weapons that were lighter and stronger than copper. Bronze was still used but rare because of how hard it was to find tin. So the weapons of Ancient Greece were made of Iron and Copper. This would help them in the Greco-Persian War.

Big Horse Statue..In Greece, horses became important in life generally and especially in warfare, racing, travelling and hunting. Horses were expensive to purchase and to maintain and, for these reasons, ownership was largely limited to the wealthier members of ancient communities. In fact, the second-highest property class in Athens was called the “hippies” or “horse owners” in the constitution of Solon. Horses therefore became symbols of high social status in Greek society.
