Our Story
My Eye For Design or "myi4d", was founded in 2007 by Alexandra Koumba as a boutique interior design office and the first Decorative Arts gallery in Greece.
An avid collector of 20thcentury decorative arts, Koumba scours auction houses and galleries during her global travels, looking for rare and original furniture pieces.
To complement her eclectic antiques, the Greek designer launched in 2008 a contemporary jewelry & home décor line which was immediately presented in trunk shows in Henri Bendel in NYC and now sells in boutiques on Madison in NYC and in other cities in the USA, London, Myconos and Japan.
In 2011 Myi4d was the official manufacturer and Alexandra Koumba was the official designer of the Jewellery & accessories for the Special Olympics World Summer Games ATHENS 2011 and Koumba has also designed for LINKS of London for London’s Olympic Games 2012 and made objects for the Cycladic Museum & the Benaki museum shops in Athens.
Alexandra has designed exclusive jewelry and accessories worn by top Greek celebrities like Eleni Foureira,Anna Vissi and in 2015 Alexandra' s jewelry was worn by Alicia Keys in Tidal Wave event and in Coachella Music festival by Kendal Jenner.
Her jewelry is covered extensively by the top Greek press publications such as VOGUE,In Style,Marie Claire,Casa VOGUE,HELLO,MTV Greece and others.
2011 November's US ELLE DECOR featured Newel Gallery in NYC where Alexandra exhibits her top 20th c furniture collection. Alexandra also got her jewellery pieces published in 2011 in January's and February's RUSSIAN VOGUE at the Editor's picks and US Weekly in 2015.
Myi4d’s clientele has been global private clients for which Alexandra provides Interior Design services since 2004 including CEOs of corporations listed in the NY stock markets. The company also designs custom gifts for corporations such as:OLYMPIC AIR,Coca Cola Hellenic and others.
Alexandra received her BA in communications at Boston University, her design degree from Parsons the New School for Design in New York, her jewellery courses in St Martin’s College of art in London and her MBA at the Bocconi School of Management in Milan.In May 2012 Alexandra gave a speech in Le Bow business School at Drexel University on "Design Entrepreneurship". Right after moving to New York to start her new company in 2014 in the USA, Alexandra got selected to join the “Design Entrepreneurship" program by NYCDP.
'My goal is to view design in a broader sense, to design the “smell of the place”; to share the feeling, the concept of a space or an event, starting from the interiors' space allocation to the details or art, music, flowers, accessories, place cards.”
