Our aim is to promote standards of competent & ethical practice in the field of local & international market.

Top Dignitaries Express Satisfaction at Formation of Real Estate Association

European Ambassador Mr Fernando Ponz - Cantó and Mr Bramdev Tyagi representative of the Indian High Commissioner were present on Friday at Tower Hotel as more than 150 real estate professionals came together to officially launch the Guyana Association of Real Estate Professionals, the first of its kind in the country. Prime Minister Mark Phillips was unable to be present due to scheduling conflict but expressed his best wishes to the group.

European Union Ambassador Mr Fernando Ponz - Cantó expressed his congratulations on the formation of the Association, "real estate is the foundation of all great wealth in a country and I'm happy to see that such interest and effort being made by this group to elevate Guyana to worldclass standards."

Mr Bramdev Tyagi speaking on behalf of the Indian High Commissioner said "the international community and India in particular has great interest in seeing this Association succeed as the potential in Guyana is so great and we feel that organizations such as this are essential to development."

Many top local business persons and government officials from both sides of government were also on hand to view this historic step towards bringing Guyana on par with international standards.

The Association's new logo was unveiled representing the current look of Guyana's housing market and the rapidly growing economic development that is projected in the coming years

The IMC comprises Melissa Khan; Neil Mcphoy; Ramkumar Jewanram; Petes Persaud; Stanley Wills; Sandy Harry; Nicola Duggan; Kerron Boston; Cassandra Bidajhar; Avinash Balac; Eurie Hohenkirk; Ulric Mentore; Ryan Gomes and
Amrita Sookram, representative of a wide cross-section of top level local real estate professionals who were drawn from a representative group of over 150 agents.

They laid out the progress made in just a few weeks, creation of an Ethics Manual, Proposed Education and Examination Guidelines, local and international marketing of Guyanese services, growing of the industry with acceptable standards and use of a local Multiple Listing System. Dr. Rosh Khan also addressed the large group on the proposed real estate legislation to be presented to the Attorney General.

Membership in the Association is open to all persons interested in the real estate field and all members will be able to contribute to the development of the industry and are also eligible for election to the Executive Board.
