Frontier Medical Services
Frontier Medical Services (FMS) provides emergency & general medical support through Air Medical Evacuations across Guyana's 83,000 square miles.
We transport patients from the hinterland to tertiary facilities in the city with inflight patient care.
Today is Doctor's Day 2022!
Annually, March 30 is celebrated as Doctor's Day to honour medical professionals and physicians who help save lives daily around the world. The first Doctor's Day was celebrated on March 30, 1933 to commemorate Dr. Crawford W. Long's first use of ether anaesthesia which initially occurred on March 30, 1842.
Today, the observation continues even in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic. When the world practically shut down, like superheros our doctors among other medical professionals assembled on the front line in combat against a deadly virus, risking their very lives in order to save others. The importance of doctors have never been felt more and here at Frontier Medical Services we have doctors who work tirelessly and without protest, safely es**rting and transporting patients from the deepest parts of Guyana’s interior to access primary health care in the city.
Today and everyday, we salute and celebrate our brave warriors who continue to save lives in the face of inclement weather, unforseen and evolving circumstances, outside of their natural work environment, i.e, often operating at great altitudes and varying conditions in the process of an air medical evacuation.
Happy Doctor's Day to our life savers here at FMS and all across Guyana!!!
LIGHT MOMENT. . .
Join us in extending best wishes to Dr. Nigel Langhorne - Managing Director of Frontier Medical Services as he celebrates another significant milestone.
Cheers doc!!!

On the occasion of International Nurses Day, here at Frontier Medical Services we salute our Nurses assiduously executing their duties even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic that has threatened the entire world.
Daily our nurses are sent to remote communities in Guyana's Hinterland to safely es**rt patients of all sorts through air medical evacuations. Operating at an altitude in excess of 5000 ft, they promptly and unhesitantly respond to emergencies, abdicating personal commitments and operating in an environment foreign to our usual surroundings.
Celebrating under the theme: ‘Nurses: A Voice to Lead - A vision for future healthcare,' we join the rest of the world in applauding our frontline heroes for the lifesaving job they do.
THANK YOU for your SACRIFICE, THANK YOU for your SERVICE, we cannot thank you enough, THANK YOU!
Regardless of AGE, status, colour, creed or medical condition, ALL LIVES are equally valued!
Ps: Pic taken Pre COVID-19, however, same services are currently available in a safe environment.
Emergencies are timeless; they have no weekends and holidays nor days and nights off. Our vibrant team is constantly on call and is prepared to respond to any emergency at any given location throughout Guyana.

Annually, April 7 marks the observance of World Health Day. This year, World Health Day was celebrated under the theme, "Building a fairer, healthier world."
The World Health Organization this year focuses on the existing inequalities of health care globally.
"Our world is an unequal one.
As COVID-19 has highlighted, some people are able to live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others - entirely due to the conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work and age."
Here at Frontier Medical Services, we have recognized the gaps in quality health care which exists mostly as a result of Guyana’s geographical layout.
Far-flung communities predominantly inhabited by Guyana’s Indigenous Peoples are by far the ones with limited to no access to advanced medical services. This is why we strive to provide MEDEVAC Services to those in need, extracting them from the depths of the forest in order to access primary health care facilities.
