For the first time in Asia and for a strictly limited season, the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong and the Asia Society Hong Kong Centre, together with the generous support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, are proud to present Light and Shadows — Caravaggio • The Italian Baroque Master. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the most famous paintings in the wo
rld, by one of the greatest artists of our time and a pioneer of modern painting. Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaus, 1605-6, will be exhibited at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center from March 12th - April 13th 2014. The exhibition also features contemporary works by Hong Kong artists Chow Chun-fai, So Hing-keung, Tsing Kin-wah and Wucius Wong, which illustrate how techniques found in Caravaggio’s paintings have been adopted centuries later. The exhibition is curated by Professor Frank Vigneron of the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
