【In Memory of Professor David VandeLinde】
WGAHK is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Professor David VandeLinde, University of Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor between 2001 to 2006.
WGAHK pays special tribute to Professor VandeLinde for his unwavering support to alumni activities in Hong Kong during his tenure. On his first visit as Warwick Vice-Chancellor in November 2001 to attend an event hosted by Chinese University of Hong Kong, he took time out of his tight schedule to meet with WGAHK’s Executive Committee. Subsequently he accepted WGAHK’s invitation and became the first Warwick Vice-Chancellor to assume the role of WGAHK’s Honorary President.
In March 2004, Professor VandeLinde came specifically to Hong Kong to be the Guest of Honour at the WGAHK’s 10th Anniversary Reception held at the British Council premises. In June 2006, at a dinner event hosted by the University of Warwick in honour of its Honorary Graduates from Hong Kong, over 100 alumni & guests shared a memorable evening with Professor VandeLine marking his last overseas trip as Warwick Vice-Chancellor.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to the VandeLinde family.

WGAHK is immensely sad to learn of the passing of MR. COLIN TOUCHIN, Director of Music at the University of Warwick Music Centre (1989-2003). During his time with the University, Colin’s passionate advocacy of music has enriched the lives of many Warwick students.
Colin’s distinguished record of conducting and coaching musicians in UK & around the world has hugely contributed to the promotion of the Warwick brand in Hong Kong through his many music projects with local institutions & music makers. His encouragement of singers and players has inspired choirs, ensembles & orchestras, both professional and amateur.
Colin has been invited as guest to many WGAHK activities since 2007 at WGAHK singing group gatherings & annual dinners. As a clarinettist, he as part of a wind-trio has given us a memorable performance at the 2013 WGAHK Annual Dinner.
Colin, you will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.
