Maintaining Personal Spiritual Health - Full-Time Missionary Training 27/05/2022

Missionaries can NOT afford to forego maintaining spiritual health!

As a missionary, it's easy to get caught up in the work of ministry and say that it is your spiritual time with God. But unfortunately, so many Christian workers run on an empty tank while fulfilling the demands of the Gospel.

This only leads to burnout and going home early! Your spiritual health is the vital key to keeping you on the field and helping you be more effective than you could ever be on your own!

The Bible tells us that we are more than conquers in Christ! Countless promises in his Word assure us that we have the victory.

The devil seeks whom he may devour. He does this through his schemes, lies, and manipulation. The battle is in our minds. Don't fall for what he tries to tell you.

Remind yourself continually who you are in God! Walk in the victory he has already given you through his Son, Jesus!

One of the greatest keys to a powerful marriage is praying together. God has led my wife and me through countless decisions and situations by prayer. He is the most significant marital partner to have.

Countless times I have allowed fear in my mind, but I have learned to run to God and follow the prescribed system in God's word.

The Bible says, God hath not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I will give all my worries and cares to God, for he cares about me. I will cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and I will bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. I will submit myself to God and resist the devil; he must flee. I will choose not to worry about anything; instead, I will pray about everything. I will tell God what I need and thank him for all he has done for me. Then I will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything I can understand. His peace will guard my heart and mind as I live in Christ Jesus.

But, in saying all that, I know the devil will try to come back and see if that worry door into my heart is open or unlocked. So, I must keep my mind fixed on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all I learned and received from the Word of God. Then the God of peace will be with me.

Apply the Word, live the Word, and be free in the Word!

Living a consistent daily life in Christ filled with positive spiritual habits will fuel the things of God he placed in your heart. You will see yourself winning the race and attaining the eternal prize!

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

A Better Way for Missionary Care - GoSendMe Global with Rob Casey 18/05/2022

NEW WAY for missionary care!

Missionary care is one of the essential components for a missionary while on the mission field. Often, a program is unavailable to the missionary through their local church or the sending agency. Or, there may be one, but it lacks in many ways and does not provide the care needed.

Rob Casey with GoSendMe Global has a unique approach to missionary care. Sort of speak, it puts the monkey on the missionary's back instead of relying upon or expecting the local church or sending agency to do it. He feels that it will be a personalized care program and be stronger when it's done this way because it was custom built by the missionary.

Setting Priorities - Full-Time Missionary Training 16/05/2022

As missionaries, it's easy to lose focus of the essential things we should be keeping our eyes on. God does not send us to the field to lose our family or a relationship with him. There are priorities we must guard and protect. As we do, God honors that with his blessings and guidance.

Pastor Tami, Maria, and my wife, Nancy, are ministering to the ladies in the community, Quebracho. They ministered on, "We are the Fragrance of Jesus Christ."

Here is an incredible book for any church that is sending missionaries out in the field. They need a well-established care team put in place.

Each year, tens of thousands of missionaries serve around the world. However, sending churches face high attrition rates; some can be traced back to not having a properly implemented missionary care program at their sending church. To ensure that missionaries can complete their service, churches need to have a well-developed support system.

Three things need to be considered in regards to a missionary care team.

--One, it lowers the attrition rate, but it also values the lives of the missionaries that were sent to the field.

--Two, it protects the invested finances, and the time it took to establish the work.

--Three, it guards the witness for the Kingdom of God in the community where the mission work was established.

Beyond Culture Shock Doing Culturally Informed Ministry - Full-Time Missionary Training 06/05/2022

ARE YOU DOING MISSIONS WITH A WESTERN MINDSET OR BEING CULTURALLY INFORMED?

The key to doing culturally informed missions is properly contextualizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the culture you are ministering. Forcing a western Christian mindset can harm and hinder the work God intends to do through you.

One thing I love more than anything about missions is the teamwork involved. Resurrection Life Church from Indiana is getting ready to visit us in July. They are shipping around 1,000 backpacks and other items to distribute to the children around Copan Ruinas. This is so exciting for Nancy and me!

“DON’T FORGET WHO JESUS IS IN YOUR LIFE”

I had the pleasure of ministering God’s Word Sunday night at La Cosecha in Copan Ruinas, Honduras.

I find it interesting that John the Baptist KNEW who Jesus was at the Jordan River, but he forgot who Jesus was while he was in prison. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

Don’t forget who Jesus is in your life! Keep him alive and real in your daily walk! Keep refreshed in the Spirit of God. Stay true to a life of prayer, reading the Word of God, and worship.

The Mission Field is No Place for Dirty Laundry!

Just because you are a Christian and going to the mission field doesn't make all the hidden issues in your life go away. It would be best to deal with them head-on before leaving to go on your foreign mission assignment (secret sins, marital problems, family issues, debt, etc.). Because once you are there, it will only magnify the problems more.

Missionaries Need Healthy Relationships with Fellow Missionaries to Thrive! 25/04/2022

DO YOU HAVE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR FELLOW MISSIONARIES?

Missionaries who maintain healthy relationships with their fellow missionaries on the field have a much higher chance of thriving and having longevity in their ministry. These relationships are essential for missionary success, as they provide support and help to build teamwork. Missionaries should strive to develop strong ties with their fellow missionaries, both through personal interactions and through cooperative work. When these connections are made, missionaries can share feelings, pray for one another, and encourage one another.
