OFEL - International Conference

We are back with OFEL Memories! The following words and the accompanying slideshow show a glimpse of the 2nd International OFEL Conference which was held in Dubrovnik, in the spring of 2014.

The objectives of the OFEL 2014 Conference were to build bridges between management, governance and entrepreneurship and to provide a global platform for scholars, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates and many others who have been interested in the changing perspectives of the fields to disseminate their research and ideas with others. OFEL 2014 was our second conference to date, with high profile plenary sessions and over a hundred papers presented across 3 major tracks.
The keynote speaker at the OFEL 2014 Conference was Professor Gerard P. Hodgkinson, Warwick Business School with lecture ‘Understanding the managerial and organizational mind: Reflecting on the past and looking to the future’.
The Corporate Governance SEE Summit had held as a part of the Conference, along with the academic writing workshop, which was certainly enriching the experience of all participants. Partners of OFEL 2014 conference were European SLIM project, Croatian Institute of Directors (CID), Academy of Management – Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division and the South East European Corporate Governance Academic Network (SEECGAN).
The agenda of the OFEL 2014 Conference covered a myriad of very interesting issues which created an opportunity for more than fruitful discussions and communication and dissemination ideas that emerged from multi-stakeholder dialogue.

OFEL MEMORIES - The 1st International OFEL Conference 2013

The main objective of the first International OFEL Conference was to portray some of the challenges, problems and corporate governance issues faced by companies and to disseminate important experiences from different regions and diverse systems of corporate governance. Contributions of the Conference laid in illustrating the corporate governance practices from 33 countries and establishing SEECGAN academic network for corporate governance scholars.

Keynote speakers were Professor Aziz Šunje, University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Professor Lilian S. Outtes Wanderley, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco –UFPE, Brazil, and Professor Peter J. Baldacchino from Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy, University of Malta, Malta.

In conjunction with the OFEL conference and in cooperation with CIRU, an academic workshop was held by the Academy of Management (AoM) Managerial and Organizational Cognition (MOC) division for early career researchers from Universities in the South East Europe area. Senior editors from leading academic journals helped the participants develop their knowledge on research methods and methodology. The coordinators of the workshop were (1) Professor Martin Kilduff (UCL School of Management); his prior academic appointment was Cambridge University and he was an editor of the Academy of Management Review; and (2) Professor Gerard P. Hodgkinson (Deputy Head of Alliance Manchester Business School) who has held previous appointment at the University of Warwick until 2016 and was the Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Management and he co-edited the International Review of Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
