Skills Lab Univet

Dear students,

It has been my great pleasure and privilege to work with you to create and grow Skills Lab over the last 4 years. From our first workshops on facebook live from my bedroom (woo lockdown), to our current on-campus lab with over 350 student attendees and 24 workshops this semester. It has been an amazing journey that I was thrilled to be a part of.
Unfortunately, nothing can last forever and my time at Univet has come to a close. I will be leaving over the summer and will not be retuning for the next academic year. Be assured that Skills Lab will be continuing, and we are currently in the process of selecting a new director.
I hope you will all continue to make use of Skills Lab as there is no limit to the value of practical training and hands-on repetition of veterinary skills. I also encourage you to continue learning animal behavior and animal-friendly veterinary handling techniques. Our patients have rich emotional lives and if you're not taking care of the brain you're only doing half a job!

I wish you all the very best of luck for this exam season and for your future veterinary careers!

Skills Lab needs your help! (Well more specifically your cat)
Do you have a cat that likes being handled and enjoys new people? We are looking for cats to help out at our animal friendly handling class on FRIDAY MAY 3RD from 2-4pm. There will be many snacks and head scratches!

Még mindig van pár szabad helyünk a május 3-ai, 8:30-tól 10:00-ig tartó “Foghúzás workshopon - tetemen való gyakorlással”-ra! There's still some spaces left in our dental extraction cadaver workshop on May 2nd from 8:30-10am! We will be going over standard dental exams and charting, followed by tooth extraction practice.
This class is open to 4th year students and above (including 4/5th inactive and delayed 11th semester)

The annual Hungarian Small Animal Veterinary Association conference will be held on campus (in the Aula) from April 5-7th, with English guest speakers in animal behavior and kidney disease.

The full conference is FREE for all UVMB students!

Hello!
The Labanim Department will receive some Dumbo rats for a handling practical this week and they can be adopted after the practical.
If you are interested in having pet rats, please contact [email protected]. They can be picked up from 3 pm on Wednesday (17 Jan) but we can only house them for a few days.
I do not have pictures yet so the pic shows you an other Dumbo rat :)
