Business As (Un)Usual

Shophouses are very common architectural prescription for the everyday economics of supply-demand opportunities. However, many of its end result turn out facing the challenge of limited choice due to the generic rules of production including the facade similitudes, width interface limitation and disharmony image. In this manner, The BAUN Building responses this gap through some tweaks of shophouse rule of thumb. The layout extends the width interface exposing possibilities for more commercial-effect of wider openings. Building's balcony blends multi-unit composition through the integrated monochromatic color application.

New Horison Pair


How could a building extension add value, invite more occupancy rate and finally improve the existing features and image? One of our findings exposes the exclusivity of space can be endorsed by simply reorganize the monotonous repetition of window into theatrical composition of irregularity. Contrast of colors also plays part into the 'unexpected' perception to compare old and new. Finally, connection and harmony of material application and interior would integrate the wholeness concept into an acceptable contrast of pair 👌🏻

The Combat for Healthier Air Quality in Workplace

Situated on the industrial site, this purwosari office unit has been designed to leverage company's working performance through the production of healthy air quality for the professionals working on the site. In particular, the perimeter of the building is designed as the filter to eradicate the air pollutant produced by the industrial machine operations. This includes synthetic filter like the roof wall on the upper level and the natural filter such as sansivera and vines plants on the ground.

The Gold & The Paper

The form of minaret is inspired by the logo where it presents a symbol of light beams. The tower is made of light gold color also to symbolize the hope for the gold generations of the community. Beside its own form, we also put careful thoughts into how the gold minaret functions. During night, the gold minaret will beams sun-ray-like lights to be the site's best spectacle and a new icon for the surrounding neighborhood
