Our Story
Polly's filmmaking career began whilst on a National Geographic 5 week sea kayaking expedition in Vietnam, as an assistant to the production crew in 2001, Descending the Dragon https://vimeo.com/232277327.
She went on to produce, direct, shoot, and edit her first documentary, Nomads, https://youtu.be/B7MA8PVBCMU a multi- award winning short documentary released in 2006. Nomads documents three white-water kayaking women, who expertly paddle the raging rapids of the White Nile River, and do service work in a local Ugandan village they are staying in.
Polly was the primary filmmaker for Blue Planet Run, a ninety-five day, twenty-four hour relay run around the world, covering over fifteen thousand miles, through sixteen countries. While on the road, Polly directed, shot and edited fourteen five- minute segments documenting the run, and she produced Running for Water a short documentary. Her footage aired on ABC World News and TV 3 New Zealand.
Polly returned to Uganda in 2009 and 2015 to film the award winning Soft Power Health, https://youtu.be/x4Mod0_A-r0 , https://youtu.be/7DaCjN7WWmQ short documentaries about Dr. Jessie Stone’s work educating local Ugandans about Malaria.
