Tuesday's continue throughout the year for Medium and Advanced runners. We also continue our Saturday runs all over the county so please come join in.

Around 40 out this morning is different groups. After the beautiful sky last night we headed for Cairn Hill. Longfords highest point. What a treat at the top. Class views of 9 counties.
Ann and Francis supplied the treats of water and goodies on the way down. Well done all.

F.A.Q. AND RACE DAY INFO. Welcome to Royal Canal Run Longford 2024 events. We are looking forward to another successful day on April 20th. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THERE ARE SOME CHANGES TO PREVIOUS YEARS. When does the Royal Canal Run Longford take place? The Race is on Saturday the 20th April 2024. How do I get there and where is HQ. LINK TO HQ. https://maps.app.goo.gl/zHLSE6K2ZrdYDswu7 Any changes made to your registration on or after April 8th will incur a €10 fee. NO EARPHONES ALLOWED ON THE COURSE. What time does the race start? Ultramarathon and Marathoners 5 hrs plus And Wheelchair athletes starting at 8.30am Marathon and 10k starting at 10am Half Marathon starting at 11.30am Race Brief will be 30 min before the start of each race at HQ as there is a 10/15 min walk to each start. Where do I get my race number. All locals please collect numbers at HQ Friday from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. At HQ on race morning open from 7.00am. Give at least 1 hr before race start time to pick up number. Will the race be chipped? Yes, the race will be chip timed by Pop Up Races. The course has been AAI measured. Are there T-Shirts? Yes – Only pre ordered T-shirts available. Are there finisher Medals? Yes Are there pacers? No Will there be parking? There is some free parking and some paid parking (€2 per day) in the area. We will also have a coffee truck with snacks so please bring some €€€. Will there be Physios available after the race? Unfortunately No Will there be showers available after the race? There are no shower facilities. Will there be toilets? Yes there are portaloos at HQ and on the course. Where can I put my bag? We will have an area taped off on the course for bag drop at your own risk. Where can ultramarathon runners place a food box/bag We will have an area on the course for food box/bag for ultra runners. Can I walk the course? Yes. Course will close at 3.30pm Where does the race start? Meet at HQ and we will walk together to the start. Where does the race finish? Beside HQ When will the results be available? The results should be available immediately upon completion on the Pop Up Races website. Tonight we were honoured to have the Legend Ray Flynn join us for our run. We had a great chat after too. Ray's one mile record still stands since 1982. His time is 3.49.77.

Today we say a sad goodbye to our cousin and great friend Theresa Mc Dermott Quinn. Theresa has been a massive part of our life and was always present at our Brendan Doyle run group and Royal Canal Run or anything we ventured into. It will be a sad day saying goodbye but we will always think of the great times and positive impact Theresa has had on us. RIP.
