Each plant has their own amino acid profile and there are only a few plants that contain all 9 essential amino acids. In order to get all essential amino acids we need to stick to a diet that is diverse enough and contains plants that complement each other
Combining vegetables that have different amino acid profiles results in a complete profile that contains all essential amino acids
Legumes combined with whole grains or nuts is a very good example of this dietary complementation
Legumes and grains are also rich in dietary fibre that is an essential nutrient for healthy gut flora
