The Confucius Institute at UCC is a Language & culture teaching establishment which was co-founded by Shanghai University and University College Cork in 2007. It has been collaborating closely with School of Asian Studies at UCC to offer Chinese courses for the BA and MA students. The UCC CI also plays an active and significant role in enhancing Chinese language teaching in primary and secondary schools in Ireland.

Saturday, the 24th of June, between 12 - 5 pm, during Bantry Kupala Festival, Amdie _ Anahuac Mexican Dance Ireland will share some great Mexican Dance and art❤️

AMDIE (Anahuac Mexican Dance Ireland) is a Dance Commnunity group for ADULTS. Based in Cork, set up in 2014, with the purpose of enjoying Latin traditional dance and music.

Dance is a central part of the cultural heritage of Latin America. Its rich tradition, which combines European and indigenous elements, is a source of pride for the joy it brings performers and audiences alike. The various dance styles of Latin America deliver important benefits for physical and mental health to those who dance, and with the bright colours of the costumes and bold movements of dancers they are a feast for the eye for those who watch.

And we have a track record of success! Why don’t you come and see for yourself?

Everyone is welcome! You don’t need previous dance experience.

Time to introduce who will visit Bantry to repesent Indian Culture during Bantry Kupala Festival 🙂

Aatma is the embodiment of the spirit of diversity. The dance troupe Aatma was founded in 2018 by Dr. Lekha Menon Margassery who had the vision to create a platform for both students and alumni of University College Cork (UCC) to follow and express their passion for Indian dances. When the troupe started, it sparked interest not only within the Indian Community at UCC, but also amongst hidden talented dancers of both the healthcare and IT sectors. The troupe currently consists of dancers from all over India who aspire to articulate their culture through different dance forms and music across classical, semi-classical, folk and even Bollywood. Though we started in 2018, we were unable to reach out to other lovers of dance, and so the team put together our launch event on 9th July 2022. We are also a registered member of the PPN (Public Participation Network). They are the winners of Multicultural Dance Competition, Cork, 2019, First Runner-up of Multicultural Dance Competition, Cork, 2018 and also the Finalist of Dublin Dance Competition, 2019.

Ukrainians will join Kupala Festival with music, brekadance, flower wreath workshops, games and more 🙂
