Congratulations To Oisín Brady from Killygarry GAA who is Cavan GAA's 2023 Senior Footballer of the year and Canice Maher from East Cavan Gaels Hurling who is Cavan GAA's 2023 Senior Hurler of the year. Oisin is a great young man who has a brilliant future ahead of him, the apple never falls far from the tree as his mother Lorraine was a great footballer 😉. Cavan hurling is coming on in leaps and bounds and it's great to see Canice getting recognised also
Is this great value or what? Get the auld dodgy box out I'm thinking

Come on Arvagh Gaa, Twinning final, someone please explain?
“She worked hard. Never took a day off. Never had staff. Never complained. Ever. Because of that, she never saw us playing football in her life, even as youngsters, and the football pitch in Templenoe is only half a mile away from the house. No distance at all. But she never, ever went to the football field to see us.
She watched us if the games were on television in the latter years, but did she wish us luck before the game? Nope. Did she say well done after the game? Nope. She blessed us with holy water on the way out to the game, and all she’d say was ‘Just remember who you are’.”

Wishing Ballyhaise GAA the best of luck this weekend, bring it home boy's
Brian Donohoe Mullahoran takes over the helm at Oldcastle, great appointment for the Meath club and one I'm sure Brian will thrive in, best wishes
This was football at it's best, free flowing, free scoring, long range points, great catching, all out attack from both sides, it was torrential rain that day but the standard was brilliant, oh how I'd love to see this kind of football back again
Next weekend brings us some classics in both the men and ladies games, Ballyhaise GAA looking to emulate Arvagh in winning a club Ulster final (intermediate) , Arvagh Gaa are back out again in an All-Ireland quarter final against Wandsworth Gaels (who?) It's in Breffni please support, and for the ladies Lurgan Ladies Gfc play Carryduff in Augher to look for an amazing back to back Minor Ulster title, best wishes to all team's who are doing the county proud
Wasn't sure which photo to put up of Bartley Gilsenan as sometimes he's shaken but never stirred, Congratulations Bartley on your new role of Killygarry GAA chairman, taking over from the great Anselm Lovett, with Jason Reilly joining Terry hyland in the management team and possibly one of the best panel of players to pick from, Killygarry should be back to Div 1 and fighting for the SFC
In my opinion he was the only man for the job Liam Maguire , I played with him I managed him, and we had great times together, he has Lavey GAA football running through his veins, a lovely guy with a lovely family , ably assisted by my cousin Damien who is another gent who has a wonderful family , Senior Management team for the 2024 season: Manager Liam Maguire and his back room team of Colin Malone, Frank McGovern, Damien Tynan, Seamus Reilly, JJ Flood and Andre Quinn. Id like to wish management and players the very best of luck for the season ahead.
Please support this worthy cause, by Killinkere GFC, all proceeds go straight to our local Sosad Cavan branch, we have one branch based in St. Kilian's Heritage Centre Mullagh on Mondays and will be increasing soon, also the Cavan branch, these funds are vital to help keep these services running as they get no government funding, maybe more clubs can try and come up with more novel ideas, SOSAD Cavan is the only charity where every penny stays local, Ramor Utd GFC Crosserlough GFC Gowna GAA Ballyhaise GAA Arvagh Gaa Drumgoon Éire Óg Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA Killygarry GAA MuintirConnacht GAA Maghera MacFinns GFC CLG Cuchulainn Castlerahan GAA Denn Gfc Shercock Gfc Lavey GAA Laragh United Gaa Lacken Celtic GAA Knockbride GFC Mullahoran Dreadnoughts Kill Shamrocks GAA Drumlane GFC Belturbet Rory O'Moore's GFC Redhills GAA Drumalee GAA Please share, if you need help please contact this page or numbers at the top of the page, I promise you it will be the best Christmas present you can ever give

Under 20 Division 1 final Result
And it's Pierson and Bradys Gowna who just had too much for Ramor, a goal each side of half time from Gowna were critical in the victory, on a freezing 🥶 cold night in Breffni 3G it was tough on both sides to play their best football as Maggie Farrelly was the most talked about in the stand, but it was from both sides, Gowna deserved their win as they were just the stronger and more clinical team, great to see Yanna Hartin cheering them on and great meeting my good old buddy sean Pierson and laurence Brady please keep donating to Yanna's fundraiser to help her have as normal a life as the rest of us https://www.idonate.ie/crowdfunder/Yannasfourleafclover
Gowna GAA 3-12
Ramor Utd GFC 1-12
U-20 Final between Ramor Utd GFC and Gowna GAA today in Breffni 3g at 4pm, can Gowna do the senior and under 20 double or can Ramor do the U-20 league and championship double
We're all behind you Ballyhaise GAA, great performance last day, we hope you finish the job and what an achievement that would be, believe in yourselves you can do it just like Arvagh,

This video is the most I've seen of the 1947 game,
Didn't realise cavan were down by 9 points at one stage in the 1st half, absolutely no plan in place by either team, very hard to judge football players now to 80 years ago, but there wasn't a lot of style that stood out from any player, I'm assuming the ball was made from pig bladder it used to be, one thing that stands out compared to today's GAA, very few stoppages or players pulling muscles, in my opinion strength and conditioning has ruined the current game, there's not enough practicing kicking the ball over the bar, you'll never improve your game in a gym FACT , players are that tight from lifting weights they end up pulling every muscle they have, strength and conditioning coaches are paid exhorbant amounts of money from clubs tax free, I heard that a senior club in cavan were going to take 2 of these coaches at €22k each per year, Cavan football will never be back to the 1947 days or 1952, they have won the most Ulster titles 40 I think, but it would make you question the standard of the other Ulster counties of that era, as we've only won 2 in the last 54 years, great footage and great men, but Cavan are a million miles away from reaching and competing with the best anymore, we will always have high expectations from our history but realistically we are just about a top 20 team and we have to start from this point,
Higgins and Mackey for Carrickmacross senior club, as Crosserlough still looking for white smoke

I've quit going to pubs since giving up the drink 14 years ago, but I made the visit to Cavan Town today as part of my job and I was treated with top class hospitality by Amanda and Damien in Macgabhanns Bar Macgabhanns , lovely place lovely people, it's not their fault that one is from Killygarry GAA and one is from Mountnugent Gaa , but somebody has to be, anyway they were lovely to me and please give their page a like and check out their Christmas party nights
QUESTION TO THE PAGE
Question is it good that a team who plays senior league can play in a junior championship to me it’s not fair for clubs like kill drung shannon gaels etc they need to have a realistic chance each year personally Monaghan does it better 2 up 2 down
Management news, Drumgoon Éire Óg former great is said to be in line for the vacant Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA Management job, best wishes Bryan if that's the case
And the under 20 championship final will be next weekend between Gowna GAA and Ramor Utd GFC ,who beat Cuchulainns and Knockbride respectively in the semi finals today, Gowna have beaten Ramor already in this competition so will be favourites, just an indication of what's in store for these sides in the coming years
So that's the ingredients you now need for Gaelic Football, what a load of sh*te, no wonder our games are struggling to keep players and it's becoming more difficult to watch, this is allegedly from an All-Ireland club winning team westof the Shannon, allegedly, they have won All-Ireland club titles but what good are they if you don't live a life
