This has to be the strangest sculpture park in Ireland. Have you been to visit? I must say I wasn’t sure what to think. Privately owned by an Irish octenagarian Buddhist monk who engaged me in a very ‘strange’ conversation at the end of our visit. He had spent thirty years in India and this was meant to be his retirement home, but decided to open it to the public.
This formidable lady Anne Merriman founded Hospice Uganda which has been a model for other African countries. In her 80s, she is unstoppable and continues to work for her cancer patients. There is an Irish branch that’s raises funds for this worthy cause HUI , if anyone wishes to look it up. Anne stayed with us while fundraising the year before the pandemic and I had the pleasure of doing her portrait.
Finally finished. Many hours and layers of coloured pencils later. I don’t usually choose a portrait like this, but I was so taken by this young dejected child in the heat of the harbourside of Chania Crete, that the image and photo stayed with me and I felt I had to draw her. I don’t much go in for sentimentality so hope it doesn’t come across like that ……………
On the trail of recent exhibitions….. MFA graduate show at the Annexe in Thomas St , also the graduate show at NCAD and a stunning International Glass Bienale at the Coachouse, Dublin Castle, beside the Chester Beatty Library, which must be one of my favourite spaces for exhibitions in Dublin. 🎓
Don’t miss this stunning exhibition atFARMLEIGH GALLERY in the Phoenix Park TREES TO TREASURE featuring students of the university of Connemara Letterfrack. Innovative and contemporary, it is so stunning and impressive.
My daughter on Greystones pebbly beach, for the sunshiny lazy days of Summer. ☀️ 🌞 👖

Paid a visit to ‘ Castle Fine Art gallery ‘ in Birmingham today. Lots of cool paintings and prints by cool multitalented celebrities like Bob Dillen, Billy Connelly and Johnny Depp. All commanding ‘cool’ prices too. There was this beautiful sculpture called Four Loves by Loenzo Quinn who on enquiry turns out to be Anthony Quinn’s son brought up in Italy. It was PAO but I didn’t dare enquire. Really enjoyed my visit to the gallery.
Minoan figures of fertility excavated at Knossos showing at the Archeological Museum of Heraklion. The double axes was an important symbol of the Minoan religion. In Crete it only accompanies female goddesses, never males.
Some of the artifacts at the Archeological Museum of Heraklion , Crete.
Finally finished my blood red orange. By Halves series continues. Oil on gessoed wood panel. 20/20 cm.

‘Fellow traveller’ on the bus. Anonymous. She was regal I thought.
Delighted to be able to reveal my two postcard paintings sold for the Incognito charity recently. The Jack and Jill foundation do Trojan work each year holding this exhibition with everything selling at 65 Euros. Hope whoever bought mine are happy with them and thank you for buying and thank you for supporting the charity. Well done to all involved.
It’s not quite all work and no play🤪. A different Bank holiday challenge. Have to keep the other side of the brain exercised too💪🧩. ♥️
One of my coloured pencil portraits.
Delighted that my two postcard paintings just sold for the Incognito amazing charity Jack and Jill foundation. Grateful to the buyers. The two pieces can be revealed in two weeks time.
