This contemporary take on Commedia dell’Arte invites you into your deepest, filthiest creative waters to create characters deranged with passion, and then discover what happens when you break them.

Skirting the knife edge between pathos and hilarity, this work invites fully embodied play with bravery, compassion and precision. Applicable to performance in any form, we begin with a nurturing yoga practice and then throw you into improvisational structures that cultivate expertise in character work, physical theatre, emotional gesture, creation of character images, make-up masks, storytelling and acting. A bit of yin and quite a lot of yang.

Suggested donation might be something between €230 to €300, but I’m happy for you to pay what feels right.

PLAY PRACTICE offers a lovely morning yoga practice followed by a little improvisational play for players in all disciplines to nurture your creativity.

You are welcome to join ONE or BOTH of these sessions:

Practice from 9.30 to 12 noon: a gentle but deeply restorative yoga and meditation practice, followed by some journal writing, tea and an opportunity to share what's coming up for you.

PLAY from 12 noon to 1.30pm: a physical theatre practice, exploring the depths of your limitless creative impulse, through movement, character exploration, object work, a touch of Commedia and inventing story.
