Boru's stunning Tara Brooch. Crafted in the finest 925 Sterling Silver.
Found in 1850, the Tara brooch is a Celtic brooch from around 700 AD and considered to be the most impressive of over 50 elaborate Irish brooches to have been discovered.
It is now displayed in the National Museum of Ireland. The brooch has been named after the Hill of Tara which was once the seat of the High Kings of Ireland.
Once used to fasten a cloak or as a symbol of status, the Tara brooch is now a lovely jewelry piece to add interest to a dress, jacket, coat or scarf.
Taking our inspiration from the artefacts of our past this beautiful Celtic brooch is an obvious symbol of heritage.
It is designed and handcrafted by our team at our Dublin workshop, assayed at Dublin Castle and comes gift boxed.
Time stands still when surrounded by natural beauty 💜
Our Ogham & Claddagh Cross Pendant (BC001)
This Ogham and Claddagh Cross Pendant combines the traditional Claddagh symbol with the Ogham language to create a very unique Irish cross.
At the center of this cross sits The Claddagh heart for love. The Claddagh arms are set into the arms of the cross. And the Claddagh crown is set at the top of the cross. Altogether these represent Ireland’s famous Claddagh symbol. The Claddagh symbolizes love, loyalty, and friendship.
At the foot of the Ogham and Claddagh Cross Pendant is the ancient Irish language of Ogham. The word ‘love’ is written in this spiritual ancient language.
The Ogham alphabet is the earliest form of Irish writing, dating back to the 4th century AD. The language is also known as the ‘Celtic Tree Alphabet’. The characters consist of a series of lines and notches scored across a long stem. There are about four hundred surviving examples of Ogham in Ireland.

The design has been inspired by our A***n (Mother of Pearl) and Solstice (18kt Yellow Gold Bead) Collections. We have instead set a Malachite stone into its centre.
These match the ring and earrings from previous posts.
Malachite is said to be a healing gemstone. There are many benefits associated with Malachite such as providing protection, alleviating negativity, and physically helping to enhance overall well-being like your immune system, your respiratory system, your liver, and your energy levels.

To match our Tree of Life Bangle (BB46) and Tree of Life Pendant (BP46).
The Tree of Life, or ‘’Crann Bethadh’’ (pronounced Crown-Ba-Ha) represents the forces of nature combining to create balance and harmony.
Trees played, quite literally, a central role in the Celt’s culture and beliefs; with great importance placed upon the Tree of Life. The tree provided them with food, shelter and medicine. In doing so, Celts believed it had enough strength to care for all life.
When clearing land, the Celtic people would honor the Tree Of Life by leaving one big tree standing in the middle of their field. Beneath its branches, important gatherings were held, such as the appointment of a new chieftain.
Whether you're single or loved up this Valentines, we are sending all of our love to you.💜

Our Teardrop Solstice Pendant with 18kt Yellow Gold Bead and surrounded by a number of CZ stones.
The design for these has been inspired by the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice is a Celtic celebration of the shortest day, and longest night, of the year. It is thought to be a period of quiet energy.
This can allow you to take the chance to reflect on yourself and focus on what you want to achieve.
The Winter Solstice is also a time to set goals and intentions for the coming year, examine and release your past and to make positive personal changes.
If you are a longtime follower of our page, you'll know we are nature lovers here at Boru and often take inspiration for our designs form our land and from our Irish heritage.

Did you know that all Boru's pieces are hallmarked by the Dublin Assay Office?
The Assay office in Dublin has been in existence since 1637. It is organized and run by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin who are representatives of the jewelry trade in Ireland.
The function of the Assay office is to ensure that the various gold, silver and platinum alloys measure up to declared standards. Example, 18kt gold should contain 750 parts pure gold per 1000 parts i.e.75% pure. The other 25% will be made up of different alloys and precious metals like Silver, Bronze, Copper, Zinc etc.
Each manufacturer and wholesaler are obliged by law to submit all his products to the assay office for testing. If the standards are not met the product will be destroyed or marked with a lower carat stamp i.e. 13.95 can only be marked as 10kt. So all Irish made jewelry will actually have more gold content than specified.
This stringent adherence to high standards ensures that the consumer is given maximum protection.
So when you purchase any piece of jewelry from Boru Jewelry ®, whether a Celtic wedding ring, a Celtic pendant or Claddagh earrings etc you can be assured that you have the genuine article with guaranteed quality.

This view of the Irish Sea never tires us, how lucky we are to live amongst such natural beauty.
Our Teardrop February Claddagh Birthstone Pendant from our Birthstone Collection.
Amethyst is the birthstone for February. If you are looking for a special gift for a loved one or friend then look no further. With a score of 7 on the Mohs hardness scale (10 being most durable), amethyst is strong enough for most jewelry pieces including rings and regular wear, however care to protect it from being scratched by rough materials. These gems can also be damaged by some acids and alkaline solutions (so don’t wear an amethyst ring while using household cleaners). Clean your amethyst jewelry with mild soap and warm water. Ultrasonic cleaners are safe unless an amethyst has had fractures filled (which is rare), but steam cleaning is not recommended.

Our Story
As a family business, we approach everything with families in mind. We understand the special place that jewelry holds in the hearts of families around the world, and we’re committed to creating exquisite pieces that will be treasured forever. Our work means everything to us if our pieces mean everything to you.
Our story started back in the mid 1980s, when the company was originally called Celtic & Heraldic. Under this name, we initially produced Family Coat of Arms Jewelry that showcased the proud family heritage of people all over the world.
This was the ‘first’ of many and we quickly established a reputation as the company that would be the first to try new things, always leading the way within our industry. For example, we were also the original designers of the now infamous ‘Mo Anam Cara’ ring and we were the first manufacturer to use the Claddagh symbol on a wedding band. Where we led, others followed.
