GRADUATE COLLECTION: WHERE DO I BELONG SS21
Where Do I belong, is a S/S streetwear collection inspired by the ideals of social and gender norms. Humans have developed and advanced so much in technology and futuristic design but as a society, we still need a lot of social and political change. This collection is gender fluid, fighting patriarchy and gender injustice through radical prints and controversial inspirations. I have taken inspiration for my shapes and silhouettes from modern architectural masterpieces that I visited as a virtual tourist. https://creative.griffith.ie/portfolio/yashna-tayal/

ALL CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH
All Cut From The Same Cloth is a collection is inspired by three generations of women connected not only by blood, but by their love of creativity. As a teenager in the 1950s, my grandmother worked as a professional seamstress. Over the years, she passed her skills in sewing and knitting onto her daughters who shared her love for fabrics and fashion. This was also a passion that I would inherit one day as her granddaughter. The concept behind this collection explores female strength and social opinions towards women, particularly in the 1950s.

EXIT HERE
EXIT HERE is a menswear collection that aims to raise awareness of mental health and su***de prevention through the means of outdoor clothing. The collection was inspired by the quote “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel”. Exit Here’s product range focuses on getting people outdoors to fresh air and nature to ultimately improve their mental health through prescriptive clothing. https://creative.griffith.ie/portfolio/lyndsey-keogh/

Dystract by Calulu S/S 22
‘DYSTRACT’ is a luxury women's S/S 22 collection. The collection’s concept inspiration originates from the 1964 movie ‘Paris when it Sizzles’ and the misapprehension of Dyspraxia (DCD). Being lately diagnosed at 13 with dyspraxia, I wanted to incorporate personal experiences into the concept research. While the film mitigates the sensitivity involving the conversation of DCD, it also creates this fun yet professional ambience.

28 M2 (Twenty Eight Meter Square)
This graduate collection 28 M2, is an A/W 2021/2022 transformable ready-to-wear collection for both men and women with multiple functions to turn performance daywear into usable camping gear and equipment. The brand`s design ethos has been inspired from the minimal living philosophy of the Tiny House Movement as well as Dublin`s many construction sites. Shapes and Silhouettes are taken from the concrete structures of skateparks and their different ramps, bowls and stairs which will be a familiar sight to the target customer.https://creative.griffith.ie/portfolio/lena-jordan/

Splash — Spring/Summer 2021
Splash is a Spring/Summer 2021 collection inspired by the designers love for painting and art. She designed the collection while reminiscing about memories of herself and her Grandfather, surrounded by paintbrushes and palettes, enjoying a mutual appreciation of creativity and colour. This collection was designed for a young, energetic, fashion-forward customer who wants her wardrobe to be comfortable and functional. https://creative.griffith.ie/portfolio/kayleigh-macken/

Hands off AW/21
Hands off is a womenswear autumn/winter collection. This collection draws inspiration from Russia and the feminist movement. Shape inspiration was drawn from beautiful Russian architecture such as the Kremlin and other orthodox churches. This collection aims to empower women by using form-fitting silhouettes embellished with striking slogans and appliqué. https://creative.griffith.ie/portfolio/gabija-vilkelyte/
Meet our NEW Fashion Design Graduates! Check out our recent graduates work at creative.griffith.ie. You can also view the work of Clara Salinger . There was a time is an Autumn/Winter 21 collection by Clara St Ledger created using feminine shapes and traditional Irish fabrics such as wool and linen to create artisan pieces This collection is inspired by women especially the ones important in my life and it is also inspired by old Catholic Ireland. My generation is the first generation to separate ourselves from the Catholic Church which had a huge influence on peoples life back then.

Claire O’Leary The graduate collection ‘Release Day’ opens the conversation surrounding mental health in Ireland, through fashion. Inspired by my father’s career as a psychiatric nurse, this collection was influenced heavily by the traditional uniforms of mental health nurses and also by the large GAA culture that existed within the hospital. Her work and the class of 2021 can be found on creative.griffith.ie

Amy Grant ‘Devil’s in the Details’ is inspired by haunted buildings in Ireland and the myths that surround them. I have always loved visiting old buildings and I appreciate how there is still beauty to be found among these ruins. Her work and the class of 2021 can be found on creative.griffith.ie
