Here at Ballyvonnavaun Salers we run a small herd of pedigree and crossbred Salers. We generally sell breeding heifers at the autumn sale in Gort Mart, Co.

Our stockbull Knottown Raj. Breeding serious calves including this year's All Ireland heifer calf champion and overall junior champion Ballyvonnavaun Belle & the 1st place pair at Tullamore Show. 6 year old, weighs 1060kg. Due to keeping all his daughters he now needs a new address. PM for details if interested.

What a day at Tullamore Show yesterday. We had a fantastic exhibition of quality Salers cattle with strong competition in all classes. The level of interest in the breed yesterday was exceptional with large crowds around the judging ring throughout the proceedings and very many genuine enquiries all day. Well done and thank you to all exhibitors, stewards, Meryl our secretary and all who helped out on the day. A special thank you to Seamus Connell our judge who made the long journey to Tullamore. At Ballyvonnavaun Salers we were thrilled with our two big wins of the day. Our January heifer calf Belle won the Junior All Ireland heifer calf class before going on to win the overall junior champion. Earlier in the morning Belle teamed up with junior heifer Ballyvonnavaun Ali to win a very competitive pairs class. Onwards and upwards for our great breed 💪

I am delighted & honoured to take on the position of Chairman of the Salers Cattle Society of Ireland. I'm really looking forward to working with my fellow council members to promote our great breed, the number one ranked maternal breed. Also very much looking forward to meeting our breeders and other farmers at Tullamore Show this Sunday where we will have an impressive display of quality Salers cattle.
The vigour of the Salers calf never gets old. Born at 1.40pm, up & suckling at 2.05pm.
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the Salers calves get up and suckle.
A lovely jet black heifer calf just born here in Ballyvonnavaun. She's 3/4 Salers out of a 2008 born Sa x Si. And it looks like we've another on the way shortly 🤞 🙏

Great day at Rathdowney Show today. Super exhibit of Salers cattle. Our four heifers (2 calves and 2 junior heifers) won 1st and 2nd in both classes and our January calf, Ballyvonnavaun Belle, got tapped out as Reserve Champion on what was her first outing. Well done all 🎉🏅
