It's so handy to have such a fabulous wedding venue just a couple of minutes from home. 😀. I officiated a wedding ceremony in the fabulous for J&A. Surrounded by their family and friends, we included a Unity Candle Ceremony, Celtic Handfasting and a short ring warming before they signed the Marriage Registration Form. We had readings by E.E. Cummings, Lori Eberhai and music from Ellie Goulding and Savage Garden. I loved telling their guests their brilliant story about how they met ❤️. It was a really lovely afternoon in the Old Ground Hotel celebrating J&A and I wish them both all the happiness in the World. ❤️

Marie and Joseph certainly had an adventure at Hags Head and laughed throughout their epic wedding day regardless of the rain. After their personal and memorable ceremony in the cosy cottage where they had their first dance to Mr Brightside which Aisling played on the harp, we made our way to the Cliffs for a Celtic Handfasting in the rain. Marie made their handfasting braid which was green and white and had charms chosen by all the family, including a shamrock, a cross, a dove, a bride/groom and an angel. We all got soaked but it was hilarious and definitely memorable. 😀 After their ceremony, Marie and Joseph celebrated in Gus O’Connors with Guinness and a warm fire.🥰 A perfect end to a perfect day ☘️

Congratulations Marie and Joseph and thanks for embracing the very changeable Irish weather ☘️😀♥️♥️.

Orla spent a very memorable day last weekend celebrating and officiating Sam's stepping stone ceremony.  It was so easy going and fun; just like Sam. He picked some of his favourite music including 'A Million Dreams' from The Greatest Showman and 'Believer' by Imagine Dragons. What great taste!!   Poems included 'Advice from a Tree' by Ilan Shamir and 'Extraordinary Lives' by William Martin.  ❤️

There were so many personal touches throughout, including an acrostic poem written by Sam’s sisters and Sam sang a song he learned at school called “Colours of the Day”.  Because Sam loves interesting facts, every guest had one for him ! We learned there are 30,000 castles alone in Ireland and that the salmon fish always comes back to the waters it was born in. We learn something new every day 😊

To top it all off, the day before his ceremony Sam hiked up Croagh Patrick and raised a whopping €2,150 for The Galway Simon Community and   What a legend! 👏

Congratulations Sam, we wish you a lifetime of fun, adventures and incredible memories.   Thank you for asking us to be part of your wonderful day and thanks to Fiona, Andrew, Elise and Marylou too for welcoming Orla in to your home (again) 😊😊. You won’t be able to get rid of her at this stage 😊

Our fabulous colleague and friend Orla is raising money for LauraLynn by completing 100 skips a day for the month of April.  You can donate to this very important charity by clicking on the link below or via our stories.

LauraLynn is the only Children’s Hospice in Ireland and provides free hospice and palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families from all across Ireland.

Their incredible team support the whole family, enabling patients to be children and parents to have time to be ‘Mums and Dads’ rather than full-time carers.❤️

In 2022, LauraLynn received core statutory state funding of €2.3m which equated to approximately 35% of the overall running costs of the hospice. LauraLynn relies primarily on fundraised income to fund its hospice services. 
Since opening in 2011, LauraLynn has cared for over 680 children and their families.

So far LauraLynn has raised over 250,000 euros due to Orla and others around the World who are completing 100 skips a day for LauraLynn. Good luck Orla 👏👏💪

Susan was so gracious with her time and carefully cultivated our wedding ceremony script. My husband and I are both from the United States so Susan was very flexible when trying to coordinate times to meet.

She also carefully listened to the customization we wanted to include in our ceremony. Susan provided great recommendations of unique ideas to add to our ceremony such as a ring warming and hand fasting. This was very unique for our American guests!

Today’s topic for World Celebrants Week 2023 - "What we love about being a celebrant". How to convey in one post all the reasons we love being a celebrant!!  It would take all day.  ☺️

Some of the many reasons are;

• Having a job which is flexible, fun and fabulous,
• The privilege of sharing such an important day with a couple and helping them celebrate,
• The trust couples place in us of delivering the ceremony they have dreamed of, 
• Welcoming a new baby to friends, family and the community (and getting a few cuddles too!), 
• Celebrating amazing children during milestone ceremonies,
• Witnessing a couple renewing their vows on a trip of a lifetime to Ireland, 
• Helping a family celebrate the life of a loved one,
• Making so many new friends; from the couples and families themselves to all of the brilliant wedding suppliers we are lucky enough to meet and work with.😀
