GKinetic are proud to have our +CityxChange CEFA 12 device featured in a new video titled ' - ' from Queen's University Belfast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x58UfCXP4dM&t=115s.

It highlights how all of the extensive to date show no negative impacts from and devices yet getting to deploy remains a key hurdle for developers like ourselves.

Our turbines can be built, deployed and generating all within a matter of weeks but the lack of a clear is delaying deployments. Our consent processes are antiquated and our are under-staffed and under-resourced.

A diverse mix of sources is needed if we are to have a real shot at reaching . The is here, we must do more to enable roll out and it needs to happen a lot faster!

Thanks to the +CityxChange project who part-funded and supported the build of the machine featured. Subject to & a we hope to see it deployed in our very own city in the near future.

Thanks to Queen's University Belfast, GES Group (Grants Electrical Services) Ltd.), The Electric Storage Company, Centre for Advanced Sustainable Energy and Invest Northern Ireland for their fantastic work and support in the project and Swimming Head Productions for the video production which received funding from the Marine Institute.

We recently met up with the 2 dedicated PDRA's working on our project in who gave great presentations on the work they have been doing πŸ™Œ.

High velocities πŸ’¦πŸŒ›are reached in Strangford Lough making it an ideal location to test our 12kW device.

Lilia Flores Mateos and Nicholas Horne have both been specially trained as Mammal Observers and right now are our device at all times when running πŸ”πŸ¬ πŸ‘€.

πŸŽ₯Underwater cameras that are monitoring below the surface in the waters of Strangford Lough are up and running as well providing an excellent visual of the interaction of the device with the .

Fully understanding how marine life and mammals behave and interact with the turbine is critical before rolling units out at scale 🌍 and getting the expertise and support from Carwyn Frost and Louise Kregting of Queen's University Belfast who are leading this work is invaluable.

GKinetic is currently seeking an Office Manager for a Flexible, Part Time role.

GKinetic Energy is a leading developer of innovative renewable energy solutions, specifically hydrokinetic turbines that generate clean, predictable energy from free flowing water. The company was founded in 2014 and is based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.

2021 was a strong year for the company securing external investment and pilot commercial projects coming to fruition. Our mission is to improve the lives of millions of people by self empowerment through clean, local energy generation. We want to disrupt the status quo of fossil fuel dependency and how this controls the structures of our world.

Now growing rapidly with a number of new hires planned for 2022, there is a need for a dedicated Office Manager to join and support the team. You should enjoy working in a dynamic, fun and entrepreneurial environment; generally no 2 days tend to be the same!

The role is based on 3-5 days per week, 6 hours per day (minimum 18 hours, max 30) but there is flexibility with this. Subject to COVID guidelines, it is preferred that the Office Manager be based in-house but remote working will also be supported as much as possible while necessary and efficient. At a minimum you will be expected to come into the office at least 1 day a week.

You will have support from the senior management team, a dedicated Financial Advisor and the company’s Accounting Firm.

Key Duties:

Management and upkeep of management accounts.
Support of monthly payroll and expense claims.

Purchasing and supplier management.
Managing travel plans, appointments, and agendas for the team.
Taking inventory and replacing office supplies when necessary.
Assisting team with preparation of presentations and general research.
Creating and updating folders/databases.
Logistics; tracking of shipping, returns etc.
Other appropriate duties may be assigned from time to time.
There is room for progression in this role. As the company expands there will be opportunity to have your input on the planning, research and financial planning for office and team expansion if this is something that would interest you.

Essential Experience

Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Strong numerical and organizational skills are essential.
Experienced and very comfortable with bookkeeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven Ability to work on own initiative.
Attention to detail (preparation of reports and proposals, data entry, proofreading).
We strive to be a paperless office – you must be highly competent working with computers.
Research and Analysis (for example researching new suppliers, pricing etc.).
Flexibility (ability to adapt to new tasks and re-prioritize).
Competitive salary will be offered based on experience. Please send your CV to [email protected], outline your experience and why you feel you are suitable for the role. Photos from GKinetic Energy Ltd's post 10/12/2021

This day last week, the GKinetic team took a well earned day out for our Christmas party πŸ₯³πŸŽ„Supporting local and getting some fresh air and exercise was the order of the day.

We started out by doing the Knights Walk in beautiful Glin (https://www.limerick.ie/discover/eat-see-do/sports-recreation/activities/walking/county-limerick-trails/glin-heritage) with John acting as our lead birdwatcher 🐦 and much discussion about how much energy could be generated from the River Shannon below us! πŸ™Œβš‘οΈπŸ’¦

Then it was on to Conway's Bar Glin where we got a fantastic welcome and enjoyed some exceptionally good pints of Guinness! Then onto Allo's Bar Bistro Townhouse, Listowel for the MOST INCREDIBLE MEAL! The food, service and ambience is second to none there πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

Apart from 'someone' putting on Garth Brooks during the sing song on the way home it was a fantastic day! 🀣 We are so grateful for our hard working and committed team and are very proud of the milestones we have achieved during what has been a difficult year. A huge thanks to all our friends, family and supporters who keep us motivated πŸ€— Very excited for an even bigger and better year in 2022! 🀩
