Our mental health therapist Austin Dunne shared his top tips for increasing personal performance during his 10 minutes presentation this week. Austin always demonstrates his capacity to help clients to see life and problems from a different perspective. He works with clients of all ages using a combination of pranic healing energy to ease emotional stress along with counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.

Austin is currently presenting a life skills 6 weeks programme at the Osprey Hotel. The programme is CBT based and is funded by Aware and as Austin says, 'it's a programme everyone should do'.

On this day in history, our great president Keith O' Brien handed over his reign to Eugene Donovan who is ready to expertly lead our chapter once again. Keith brought a lot of positive energy to our group in his role as President, supported by various members in additional roles.

There were lots of good news story’s today of new clients and expansions to new premises and testimonials for work well done.

A behind the scenes look at our chapters sales figures for the week gone by indicate that our team has hit the 2 million in sales marker. We will have a lot to celebrate next month when our figures get officially released.

Already we’re celebrating new members and we have some members applications being processed too so our team will be busy welcoming and getting to know new team members and their businesses.

This week former President Eugene Donovan stepped in Keith O’Brien’s Presidential shoes as Keith is attending the Tech Connect Conference this week.

We had an upbeat meeting as usual with educational tips on team work from Andrew Groves of G Sports Newbridge. Finbarr Malone talked about the importance of building relationships which continues to serve his business in Byrne Malone Estate Agents.

Congratulations to Evelyn McKeogh from Blackberry Hearing who’s this month’s notable networker and to Michael Dick who won the best 60 second business presentation.

We heard from Paul Mc Sherry who gave a 10 minute presentation on why Crowley’s Opticians are the best people to go to for personal and corporate eye health.

Our Regional Director Simon Finn was on board to provide details of our upcoming regional awards night in November, that’s when the stars of our chapter will be announced.

All in all a great meeting as one of our visitors recently said ‘best 90 minute meeting he ever attended online.’

It’s always great to see our members in person once a month and especially nice to combine this with having a visitor’s day. Today we welcomed four visitors and three guests from neighbouring chapters.

We also welcomed 2 new members to our team including Ian McGill Grad IOSH from Reconnaissance Group and Nathan Carpenter from The Office Centre.

Austin Dunne was our hands down winner of the 60 second business pitch with his countdown to New Year, bypassing any whiff of the ‘R’ word which had been introduced by Andrew Groves in his weekly educational slot advising us on how to be ‘Recession Proof’.

The answer to being ‘R Proof’ lies in using your time wisely to invest in yourself and your business to be ready to spring forward when opportunity arises. We’re approaching a time when who you know and trust will make all the difference with regards to getting quality referrals and that’s what BNI is all about.

Our notable networker for the month gone by is Evelyn McKeogh who also spoke about the importance of building relationships which she contributes to her business success through BNI.
