Forest Celtic
Forest Celtic are a recreational football team.
Forest Celtic were formed in 2012 from the ashes of an allsorts team known as Durkins Pub team and play in the Sligo Rovers Astro League. In the 2011/2012 season Durkins Pub (who were formed in 2011) finished 7th in the second tier (Division 2) of Sligo Rovers Astro League, reached the quarter-final’s of the Socrates Informatics Cup and were runners-up in the Emmet O’Connor Memorial Cup.
We are officially ten years old. So I going ask some players that play with us to write the best memories and moments.
I could be here all day.
But I going to be really smiple about it.
Having the honour of meeting some great lads and great friends for life.
So lads get posting and sharing.

We played Sally gardens Monday night in the showgrounds , we probably feel we should of got more out of the game loading 3 - 1 and lossing one of our key players. Heads up lads.

Driving to the match on gameday.
Training Monday at sligo sport complex at 9pm, our 4th game of the year is on the day after on Tuesday 8pm in the showground against clune Celtic yet another new team in the league.

Well tonight game was entertaining to say the least, the weather played it part, against the wind in the first half saw us pinned back for most of the first half. Calry first goal was a hand ball all day long, Calry 2 nd goal came from a ball lob over the top and the wind carried the ball over the back four of forest and the Calry front men could run into the space to score. The 2nd half saw forest grow into the game and created and play good football and maybe a little unlucky not to get anything for there hard work. Calry then got forest on a counter attacked and wrapped up the 3 points. We go again boys.
Our 2nd game is on tonight in the showground at 9pm against Calry. Our players to meet at 8.40 pm.
Great turn out at training last night, we go Wednesday night at 9pm in the sport's complexs. If time and venue are changed we will confirm tomorrow.

Well the season has started on Friday the 21th of sep unfortunately we lost to a stronger team the final score was 6 -1 , we had 10 players for the match. We created a few changes and scoreline maybe a small bit unjustified because of our efforts. But we will go again

Starting with
Kenneth Appleby start playing 5 years ago now current manager
Nigel Durkin form Durkin days, without Nigel we would not exist kerain gaffeny captain
Philip Leyden Kenny Appleby captain took over from the Durkin days and brought us on considerable as a team.
Joe Mageee on sence 3 years ago now captain and a leader on and off the pitch.
I believe forest are 6th place at the moment in league one the league split's soon. But I wish them and Kenny and Joe good luck for the rest of the year.
First game of the new season kicks off against ballyshannon 27th sept at 9pm
