It's time for the van to close up for awhile! We will be closed the next couple of months to avoid some of the winter weather and get some maintenance work done on the van.

We will be making a donation for every coffee sold on the morning ☕ and there will also be donation buckets

This Saturday evening as part of the we will be serving dinner from the van.

We still have some availability for food at 6:00pm and 6:30pm. Pre-book at the van or send me a message 🍽️

Vitamin Sea Festival is next weekend folks 🌊

It'll be business as usual both days with a few extras thrown in for 🎉

Saturday:

-We will be serving food from the van from 6:00pm-7:30pm. We will be serving up beef cheek slowed cooked in red wine, new potatoes and summer vegetables. Followed by your choice of dessert 😋 Vegan/vegetarian option available on request🍴Booking required! Bookings can be made at the van or DM on Instagram. Tickets €20 (Booking slots at 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00)

-We will also have set up at Newtown 4:30pm-7:30pm supplying the tunes 🎸🎶

All weekend:

-Book your sauna spots with .ie through their website

-Sunrise yoga with with a sauna session followed by breakfast from the van. Available to book through .ie

Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of my control we are going to have to cancel the end of summer party.

The Council initially advised that I just need the Gardaí to sign off on this. The Gardaí had no issue.

But the Council have received a complaint about the party, so now they require me to get a full outdoor event licence. This licence is usually only necessary for events for 5000+ people. And at such short notice I am not going to be able to attain that.

I really appreciate everyone's support for what was supposed to be social gathering for the community that has formed out at the Guillamene.

I will be in contact with anyone who has bought tickets to organise a refund.

We have a big birthday to celebrate out here at Newtown Cove! The Metalman is 200 years old 🥳

I know the weather hasn't really been playing ball for us this summer, but we've decided to go ahead and throw a party anyway!

- FOOD: pig on a spit 🐷 Vegan/vegetarian option available. Time slots at 6:30 and 7:00

- MUSIC: Gav will be providing tunes with his Solar Sound system 🎶 6:00 to 8:00

- SCREENING: screening of documentary Unsinkable, showcasing his swim of the length of Ireland 🏊‍♂️ 8:30

- YOGA: free yoga class provided by 🧘‍♀️ 6:00 to 7:00

- SUP: paddle boarding tours to the caves will be run by Niall 🤙 more details to follow

Vitamin Sea Festival has been a huge success the last two years! Last year at the Guillamene we had:

Saturday - We will be open 5am to 7am for coffees for any swimmers and walkers taking part in Darkness into Light. We will be doing granola only at this time if you are looking for breakfast. Then we will reopen as normal from 9am.

Sunday - We will be closed for the day due to circumstances outside of my control. So if you want a toastie or a blaa this weekend, come on Saturday 😅

**Winter Break**

We will be closed for the next few weeks to avoid some of the winter weather and to take a well deserved break!

**ANNOUNCEMENT**

This post should be to say that I have changed the opening hours back to weekends only and I'll be seeing you all tomorrow. But unfortunately I have had some significant van trouble the last few days (as in the engine won't start 😩) and so I won't have the van out at Newtown until further notice. This is a huge disappointment coming straight off the back of such a great summer and I will be doing everything in my power to get back out as soon as possible!

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came by the van this summer. There was such a great sense of community around the van the last couple months - and that's down to all of you. Thank you for making the van so much fun 💛

And a shout out to my top class van team - Shane, Roisin and Liz, who put in a huge amount of work this summer to help me keep the show on the road!

🌊 SUMMER OPENING HOURS 🌊

With July coming up it's time for us to start our summer opening hours at Newtown Cove 🎉 Starting this week we will be open:

Monday - Friday: 10am - 4pm
Saturday + Sunday: 9am - 5pm

We will finish food each day at 3pm

*As always we are dependent on weather and can't open in extreme wind and rain

Hopefully starting summer hours will bring the summer weather 🌞✌️
